Job Description: Program Director
Purpose
The primary purpose of this role is to provide crisis intervention, assessment, and therapy to children and families experiencing trauma, primarily as a result of abuse or neglect. S/he plays a key role in SAFFT's effectiveness by helping children, parents, and caregivers of the family unit heal by addressing the root causes of abuse as well as the resulting impacts of abuse. This role is key to ensuring continuous performance and quality improvement of all clinical programs.
Location: SAFFT Family Life Center, Cumming and Gainesville Locations
Organization/Program: Supporting Adoption & Foster Families Together/Clinical Support Services
Hours of Operation: 10:30a – 7:30p everyday
Primary duties:
- Provide encouragement, direction and supervision to staff and interns to help achieve program and organizational goals.
- Ensure quality performance and contract compliance of programs.
- Lead and maintain the accreditation process for the clinical programs.
- Provide trauma-informed mental health services to children and families, including individual, family, dyadic, and group therapy.
- Maintain confidentiality of records relating to clients' treatment.
- Prepare and maintain all required treatment records, including but not limited to IPOCs, progress notes, federal- and state-mandated forms, client diagnostic records, assessments, evaluations, recommendations and reports.
- Perform crisis intervention with clients.
- Assess clients' mental health, based on review of client information, including collateral documentation from other providers in clients’ professional care team.
- Act as a client advocate to coordinate required services or to resolve emergency problems in crises.
- Provide ongoing performance evaluation to staff and interns to help them achieve their career development goals.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment activities on clients' progress and modify as needed.
- Counsel family members to assist them in understanding, dealing with, or supporting clients or patients.
- Attend professional development and learning opportunities.
- Connect families to community resources and specialists as necessary.
- Coordinate and direct workshops, programs, groups, courses, and training about mental health and substance abuse to improve community health.
- Complete periodic reporting and billing for each program service.
- Process accounts payables and follow-up on accounts receivables weekly.
- Collaborate with community partners and represent the organization well in the community.
- Assist with public relations and promoting a positive image of SAFFT.
- Assist with and attend all fundraising events.
- Other duties as assigned.
Direct Contact/Reports to: Executive Director
Hours: Full-time, exempt position
Pay Range: $48,000 - $70,000 commensurate with credentials and experience
Vacation/Time-Off/Benefits: 15 days of paid time off (PTO) annually and 15 paid holidays annually. Medical, dental and vision offered and employer pays half of the employee-only cost. Professional development/continuing education opportunities available.
Skills and Minimum Requirements:
Candidate must have a minimum of a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, or Professional Counseling. Candidate must be fully licensed in the state of Georgia as a LMFT, LCSW, or LPC and maintain licensure in good standing throughout the period of employment. Candidate must be trauma-competent with five years of experience working with individuals and families who have experienced trauma. Candidate must be eligible to provide clinical supervision in the state of Georgia. Candidate must also have experience with program development, implementation, and billing entities for clinical services. Candidates must also possess a strong understanding of child development, parenting techniques, positive reinforcement, and conflict resolution. Candidate must possess a vehicle with acceptable insurance and driver’s license. Candidate must complete AHA Pediatric and Adult First Aid/CPR and required online trainings through DHS prior to beginning employment, if offered and accepted.
Preferred Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have 10 years of experience providing clinical direction and supervision and 5 years of experience billing insurance, Medicaid, and DFCS. Also, s/he will have three years of experience providing clinical direction and supervision to clinicians preparing for their clinical licenses in Georgia.

Our core service is supervised visitation with additional wrap around supports to enable biological parents to prepare for reunification. We also provide family therapy to the entire family unit, including foster parents to help ease the transition for children into foster care as well as to maintain the foster placement to prevent children from bring further traumatized due to placement disruption.
We also offer clinical services including to help families heal from the trauma they've experienced prior to, during, and after children were removed from their original homes.
Further, we offer a foster parent resource closet to help foster families and children entering care to have access to new clothing and toiletries.
