Job Title: Regional Membership Manager 

Reports To: Senior Director of Membership 

Status: Exempt 

Salary: $55K Annually 

Location: Out based 

JOB SUMMARY 

Provide oversight and direction of the girl and adult membership in a designated territory to reach the established girl and adult market share goals. In partnership with Area Executives, develop and implement a comprehensive written membership plan with girls and adult membership extension and retention. Provide guidance for external community collaborations and partnerships to garner community support and expand membership opportunities. The Regional Executive will use his/her network and expertise to strategically identify prospects, make effective presentations and utilize creative ways to increase the girl and adult membership of Council while leading a team of Area Executives.     

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyzes market data on demographics, membership trends, current school statistics and other available information to design or revise membership strategies and to determine girl and adult membership needs and goals.  
  • Maintain and cultivate an active and engaged corps of adult volunteers by coordinating the development of the annual Volunteer Experience action plans.  
  • Manage a volunteer recognition program that consistently improves on volunteers feeling appreciated and promotes deeper volunteer engagement.  
  • Train staff and volunteers on the fundamentals of working with, and supervising, groups of volunteers.  
  • Provides training, direction and coaching to assigned Area Executives in development and implementation of adult and girl recruitment strategies. 
  • In partnership with the Area Executives, develop an annual growth based comprehensive membership plan. 
  • Coordinate all aspects of fall recruitment events with Area Executives and Troop Development Coordinators. 
  • Create and implement a spring adult recruitment campaign. 
  • Manage the full life-cycle of the volunteer screening, placement, assessment, safety, and security procedures.  
  • Develop and conduct new strategies to recruit new market segments. 
  • Provides direction and supervision to Area Executives in the development and implementation of a plan of work for assigned geographic areas and other membership initiatives. 
  • Develop and implement community cultivation plans by Area Executives to expand community partnerships and awareness of Girl Scouting.  
  • Ensure the volunteer management experience is easy to access, meaningful to the volunteers, and productive for Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta.  
  • Maintain accurate volunteer position descriptions.  
  • Take the initiative to identify and act on problems while leading by example.  
  • Report against volunteer goals monthly, quarterly, and annually.  
  • Consistently use all available promotional literature to ensure consistent brand messaging and communication of value proposition in recruitment activities across the Council’s 34-county geography. 
  • Develops and administers the membership team operating budget.  
  • Proactively manage volunteer issues (e.g., staffing issues, conflict resolution) 
  • Ensure that all council, and GSUSA guidelines and standards are communicated to staff and volunteers. 
  • Act as liaison to fund development team to support the annual fund parents’ campaign. 
  • Support council product sale programs: ensure membership staff secures service unit managers for both council programs. 
  • Accurately use and record data in Volunteer Systems. 
  • Works remotely as needed to support and complete assignments. 
  • Successfully executes other duties as assigned. 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES 

  • Ability to work well with people, network with volunteers and employees.  
  • Excellent interpersonal skills  
  • Thorough knowledge of Girl Scouting  
  • Excellent skills in planning, evaluation, and follow-up 
  • Proven organizational skills required. 
  • Good interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to work well with a team and independently. 
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize each. 
  • Ability to meet designated deadlines. 
  • Demonstrates and always promotes a climate of courtesy and professionalism.  
  • Maintains strict confidentiality when handling sensitive information. 

PREFERRED SKILLS 

  • Project coordination 
  • Knowledge of Girl Scout organization 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.  
  • 5-7 years’ experience in supervising a team. 
  • Must be Microsoft proficient. 
  • Willingness or ability to work flexible hours, including some nights and weekends. 
  • Must successfully complete a criminal and motor vehicle background check.
