JOB SUMMARY:
The Chief of Staff is responsible for leading the implementation of the organization’s strategic plan, managing key cross-functional projects, driving the implementation of integrated organizational systems, and supporting the President/CEO with various strategic priorities. The Chief of Staff will serve on the Senior Leadership Team and may manage key functions within the organization as needed.
 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Strategic Plan Implementation

 Coordinate with various organization leaders to ensure strategic plan initiatives remain on schedule and that strategic goals are met.
 Collect relevant data and produce dashboards for communicating progress against strategic plan goals to all relevant stakeholders (employees, donors, board members, etc.).
 Manage the strategic plan data tracking system (Cascade) to ensure consistent tracking of progress.
 Drive implementation of strategic initiatives requiring additional support and capacity.
New Club Site Development
 Lead all new site development efforts including assessing the feasibility of growth opportunities and communicating with various stakeholders.
 Broker partnerships related to the launch of new Clubs.
 Coordinate cross-functional teams for new Club openings and provide project management support.
Project Management
 Oversee large, often cross-functional, organization-wide projects or initiatives; bring together important stakeholders and help drive decisions.
 Research, perform benchmarking, analyze data, and make recommendations.
 Propose the creation of new systems and processes to streamline operations.
Meeting & Events Preparation
 Coordinate agendas and materials for the leadership team and board meetings.
 Organize retreats, conferences, and other special events.
Board Engagement
 Work with the President/CEO and Chief Development Officer to actively engage volunteer leaders (County Boards, Board of Directors, and Board Trustees) in meaningful engagement opportunities.
 Represent the Senior Leadership Team at various board meetings and functions.
Data Systems Implementation
 Support the organization’s focus on creating a data-driven culture by overseeing the development and implementation of data dashboards for key performance indicators across all functions
 Develop and implement a consistent system and cadence for reviewing and responding to data
Organizational Systems, Policies, & Procedures
 Identify & implement internal process improvements, including technology solutions, that will result in cost savings, enhanced integration, and increased efficiencies.
 Oversee the development and approval process for all policies and procedures
 Implement consistent practices for memorializing, communicating, and training on all policies and procedures
 Develop and implement systems for document management and records retention, ensuring compliance with the organization’s records retention policy
Contract & Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Management
 Manage the review (include review with legal counsel) and approval process for all major contracts and MOUs for the organization
Senior Advisor
 Serve as a strategic thought partner to the President/CEO and Senior Leadership Team
 Serve as a team player and “generalist” who can pivot from high-level strategic priorities to tactical implementation of critical activities within any function as needed
 Manage departments or teams as vacancies in leadership may occur
 

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Education

 B.A./B.S. degree or equivalent experience.
Experience
 Seven to ten years of comparable leadership experience with a focus in strategy, consulting, and/or project management
Skills
 Commitment to BGCMA’s mission.
 Ability to identify an org-wide problem or challenge and develop a plan to solve and execute solutions.
 Ability to participate as a team member while also demonstrating a high level of self-motivation and an ability to work independently.
 Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
 Strong project management skills
 Experience developing and implementing org-wide systems
 Strong attention to detail
 High-level emotional intelligence working with a variety of internal and external audiences.
 Experience working with and managing board members and high-level partnerships.
 Persuasive with strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent presentation skills.
 

ENVIRONMENT & WORKING CONDITIONS:
 Normal internal office environment with frequent travel to Clubs, and the Support Center. Sporadic evening work to support normal Club hours and occasional weekends to support the organization’s fundraising events, special events, and activities. Frequent internal contact with employees throughout the organization is required. Physical requirements include walking, climbing stairs, and sitting for four-plus hours per day. Light work, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently.

 Exempt employees are not entitled, under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), to the protections of the wage and hour laws of the state or the FLSA. Exempt employees must always be paid on a salary basis and not be subject to reduction based on the quality or quantity of work performed.
