Pasadena Community Foundation seeks a dynamic, creative and entrepreneurial development professional to serve as its next Director of Development. Established as the Pasadena Foundation in 1953, the Pasadena Community Foundation (PCF) works with individuals, families, and organizations to establish philanthropic funds, create and build endowment funds, and distribute charitable gifts to nonprofit organizations in Pasadena and across the country. In addition to donor-directed grants and scholarships, PCF makes annual grants in six areas: Arts & Culture, Youth & Education, Environment & Animal Welfare, Health & Safety, Human Services, and Community & Economic Development. The Director of Development is responsible for identifying, cultivating, stewarding and soliciting potential donors and fund creators. This individual will be responsible for staffing the Board Development Committee, and will work closely with the Chair of the Development Committee. Overseeing the Marketing and Communications Manager, the Director of Development will work  with the CEO, Board members and other administrators to develop and implement clear goals, systems and priorities. An energetic and visible leader, the successful candidate will have  a commitment to Pasadena and the greater San Gabriel Valley. The successful candidate should have a minimum of five to seven years of broad-based fundraising experience with knowledge of current and evolving trends in major, annual and planned gifts as well as endowments. An exceptional record of personal achievement in cultivating donors and raising major gifts as well as documented success in creating and managing a comprehensive development program is important. Candidates with residential ties to the greater Pasadena area and a personal commitment to Pasadena nonprofits with relevant external relations experience are encouraged to apply. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred. The annual salary range is $1400,000 to $160,000 based on experience.
