Job Details

Reporting to the organization's Equity Program Director (EPD), the Equity Program Coordinator (EPC) will act as administrative support to promote the LAPPS mission and work. The EPC is responsible for providing support to LAPPS’ Language Support Services (LAN). The LAN and Equity Angeles Program is a service to provide language services, parent guidance, or equity enhancement services to partnering schools that will have a trained Equity Angel on-site to assist district parents. The EPC candidate will lead back-end processes, initiatives and services for the signature Equity Angeles Program, and will support LAPPS staff in coordinating Member Development and Outreach, activation initiatives and events, programming, etc. EPC must be an organized individual with exceptional attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills and never-ending enthusiasm and positive optimistic attitude. Above all, you are a steward of the organization’s mission and community’s values.

Primary Duties: 

  • Manage administration and customer service excellence for LAPPS signature Equity Angeles Program
  • Manage, maintain and update all program case logs and reporting
  • Manage & maintain all inbound-outbound call & call-back management, new case tickets and coordinate case program follow-ups to resolution
  • Assist with data entry for Equity Angeles and Membership programs and maintain data and systems, as needed
  • Provide final communications for all closed inquiries; collect customer feedback and  support. 
  • Serve as a LAPPS ambassador and provide member and external assistance when needed. 
  • Assist EPD with administration, events and community engagements, logistics, coordination, and update marketing and communications calendar
  • Recruit, screen, train and coordinate volunteers. 
  • Manage and maintain program expenditures and tracking
  • Draft event and program flyers, social media posts and content, and newsletter in collaboration and under supervision of Managers and EPD. 
  • Office and Administrative back-end support, meetings notes, summaries and reporting.  
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: 

  • Preferred bachelor’s degree (BA, BS) in related field, or relevant work experience.  
  • Fully English/Spanish bilingual and bicultural – language and cultural competency to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds in the Hispanic/Latino community
  • Analytical acumen, team player with a can-do attitude
  • Creative and passionate about advocacy & education
  • Ability to develop relationships, charismatic with exceptional interpersonal, communication and conflict-resolution skills
  • Event planning and logistics
  • Has an open mindset towards, embraces and continuously initiates and implements change
  • Ability to work independently, be flexible, and manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office and Google suite(s), Zoom and pertinent programs
  • Candidates must be open to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends. 
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, moderate/heavy lifting and commute
  • Must have a driver's license and a dependable insured vehicle
  • Must pass a background check and be eligible to work around children, parents and school officials

  • Up to  80% remote work, and 20% traveling within the district.
