Company

LAPPS’ (Latino Association for Parents of Public Schools) mission is to empower parents to be fundamental and active participants in their children’s education. Our vision is the collaboration between parents, schools, and communities to promote success through equity in education.

LAPPS leads advocacy efforts for Latinos by recently collaborating with the Atlanta Public Schools (APS) Board of Education to pass the first Language Access Policy in the state of Georgia. Additionally, the creation and authoring of its APS Equity Report - State of Atlanta Public Schools is a prime example of seeking greater levels of accountability and urgency toward systemic change within our own community.

LAPPS is at an inflection point and ready to add to its team. The organization has successfully positioned itself as the go-to parent educational Latinx organization and thought-leader in Atlanta Public Schools (APS). Our advocacy effort, mindset, and passion come together to empower our community to positively impact systemic change within public school systems.
