We are thankful to be a diverse church, both ethnically and socio-economically, and place a high priority on seeking to live out our call to be a healthy Christian community together. On Sunday mornings, we have an attendance of approximately 100-125, with 35-40 of those being children under the age of 12. And the number of children continues to grow!
We are seeking a dynamic self-starter to implement the vision of Redeemer Community Church in the Kids’ Ministry Department. The Redeemer Kids’ Director will provide guidance, leadership, support and pastoral care for children, parents, and volunteers. We are looking for a person who can be a spiritual leader for children from birth through 8th grade. The ideal candidate needs to be organized, have the ability to multi-task, have high energy, be a recognized leader and team builder, able to develop other leaders, be passionate about sharing the Gospel, and have a passion for the community.
• Pastoral Care (20% of Responsibility)
Nurture and lead all Redeemer Kids’ staff and volunteers
Come alongside Redeemer Kids’ parents and families in the discipleship of their
Teach, care for, nurture, evangelize and disciple children involved with Redeemer Kids
• Volunteer Recruitment (25% of Responsibility)
Responsible for all new volunteer interviews, background checks, and all new
volunteer staff training and development
Responsible for all volunteer staffing levels so that all classrooms are open for
Run Planning Center and thoroughly communicate with staff and volunteers
• Responsible for all ongoing staff training and development • Operational Responsibilities (40% of Responsibility)
• Ensuring Kids Ministry programming is executed at each classroom in accordance with established curriculum, classroom procedures, and child safety policies Responsible for maintaining budgets and operational oversight of all classrooms, including but not limited to - registration/check in, teaching, activities (crafts and games), snacks, and child safety
Promotion and Communication: Direct and oversee communication to parents about upcoming events, in conjunction with our staff
Environment Prep: Ensure the physical environment of each classroom and check in station is safe and inviting
Organize childcare for occasional whole-church events. Attend Staff Meetings.
For your personal growth/maturity, participate in a Small Group, Spiritual Formation group, or weekly Bible Study
Oversight (15% of Responsibility)
Execute at least 2 volunteer training/appreciation events yearly Coordinate Kids’ Camp each summer (in conjunction with Peace Prep) Coordinate a Christmas program each December
2-3 Baby Dedication Events Yearly
2-3 Family/Kid Events Yearly
Open to lay applicants and clergy. Preferred but not required: a bachelor’s degree in children’s ministry child development OR significant experience working or volunteering with a children’s ministry, preferably in a leadership role.
Excellent written communication skills
Moderate proficiency with scheduling programs. (Preferred) Experience in Planning
Proficient in Word

Christian lifestyle that is in harmony with clear Biblical standards
Handles confidential matters with discretion
Self-motivated, independent worker with the leadership skills necessary to engage and lead teams
Ability to manage multiple responsibilities
Desire to work with members of the church and the community.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Communication skills, both written and oral, at all levels
Professional ability to recruit, train, and supervise volunteers
Team Player with positive, servant-motivated attitude
3 - 5 Years Ministry Experience – paid or volunteer position
Full time, Salary. 40 hours weekly. May include evenings and weekends for various church activities
2 Weeks Paid Vacation
Monthly phone stipend
