Job Details

Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta seeks a part-time Development Director to assist the organization with its mission of connecting attorneys with nonprofits in need of free legal assistance. 

Founded in 2005, Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta has an annual budget of just over $900,000.  More information about the organization can be found at www.pbpatl.org

The Development Director will work closely and in partnership with the Executive Director to lead all fundraising efforts in this growing organization.  The Development Director will work approximately 25 hours per week (with possibility of increased hours), primarily from home. 

Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
•     Develop and direct implementation of comprehensive fundraising plan that covers individuals, 
corporations, law firms, legal associations and foundations
•     Develop and refine fundraising strategy and implement development-related components of 
strategic plan
•     Support and partner with the Executive Director to raise funds
•     Oversee and guide Development Manager
•     Motivate and guide board members in their fundraising role
•     Develop long-term relationship-management approach for corporations, law firms and 
foundations
•     Develop and direct a strategy for increased and sustained base of annual individual donors
•     Manage and expand funding partnerships with current donors and position the organization for 
successful renewal of funding commitments
•     Forge new relationships to build visibility and open funding opportunities
•     Research, cultivate, and solicit new funding sources
•     Develop proposals and reports for foundation and corporate fundraising
•     Refine and oversee appropriate donor tracking and reporting systems
•     Represent the organization at external meetings and speaking engagements as needed
•     Plan annual reception and other events
•     Oversee production of annual report and other development materials

Candidate Requirements:
•     Bachelor’s degree and eight to ten years’ work experience in nonprofit development
•     Strong network in Atlanta and demonstrated track record of securing major funding, 
particularly from corporations and foundations
•     Passion for Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta’s mission and ability to make the case for the 
organization
•     Ability to influence and engage a wide range of donors and build long-term relationships
•     Excellent organizational skills, outstanding written and verbal communication skills, 
creativity, comfort with technology, strong attention to detail, and ability to lead a team
•     A professional, customer-focused and responsive manner
