Scope of Position: Provide professional and administrative guidance to a team of Home Study Consultants by consulting and coaching them in the services they provide in order to support our mission of placing children in a safe and loving Christian family
Reports to: Director, WinShape Foster Care - Homes
Responsibilities:
- Provides guidance to Home Study Consultants regarding rules, regulations, current home study issues, and emergencies including being available during nights, holidays, and weekends.
- On-boards and trains newly assigned Home Study Consultants as well as maintain team’s ongoing training to ensure compliance is met
- Establishes appropriate action needed to best ensure the safety of all the children in the care of WinShape Foster Care.
- Ensures support services are provided to all foster and respite parents assigned to their Home Study Consultants
- Consistently meets 1:1 with assigned Home Study Consultants to set annual goals, provide leadership and guidance, staff cases, and conduct annual reviews.
- Oversees continual compliance and approval status of foster homes.
- Provides coverage by fulfilling the role of Home Study Consultants as needed by the agency.
- Participates in recruitment efforts by attending and participating in church launch days, developing and maintaining relationships with State and private agencies, attending State partnership R&D meetings.
- Works with Relationship and Marketing Manager and the Foster Care Team to set up, assign, and execute all pre-service and post-service training for foster and respite parents.
- Leads pre-service and continuing education classes on a routine basis.
- Instructs Home Study Consultants on providing necessary guidance to foster families in the areas of punishment, room, board, and watchful oversight.
- Attends all meetings and trainings required by the Director, Foster Care - Homes, Senior Director, WinShape Homes, and the State of Georgia.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Director, WinShape Foster Care - Homes or Senior Director, WinShape Homes.
Qualifications:
Spiritual:
- A self-professing Christ follower, actively involved in a Christian faith community and actively pursuing Christ on a consistent basis
- Commitment to discipleship, prayer, and Bible study
- Servant leadership as modeled by Jesus Christ
Education:
- Possess a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in the area of Social Work, Psychology, or the behavioral sciences.
- Body of knowledge and skills related to the responsibilities of the position, especially in the field of foster care, trauma, and attachment.
- SAFE Supervisor certified
Professional:
- Minimum of 4 years paid work experience in a child welfare setting specifically in writing and approving home studies.
- Demonstrated effective leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously.
- Thorough knowledge of Georgia rules and regulations set forth by Residential Child Care Licensing as well as Office of Provider Management.
- Working knowledge of GA SHINES and GA SCORE
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Willing to travel in a WinShape Homes vehicle to multiple areas around the State of Georgia.
- Possess valid driver’s license and has an acceptable driving record
Preferred:
- Licensed social worker
- Experience in supervision
- Knowledge of Extended Reach database system
