GENERAL DESCRIPTION  

New American Pathways is a nonprofit 501c3 organization with the mission helping refugees and Georgia thrive. Our vision is for new Americans in Metro Atlanta to become successful, contributing, and welcomed members of Georgia’s communities. We believe that civic participation is a key indicator of success along a new American’s trajectory of integration and similarly, as a core indicator of a healthy democracy. By registering and mobilizing new voters, investing in emerging immigrant leaders, and connecting new Georgians to civic education services that are culturally and linguistically relevant, we help new Americans more easily access this milestone of civic integration by working to elevate their voices, bolster representation, and build power within these communities locally and statewide.  

New American Pathways’ Civic Engagement Department is currently seeking a Voter Engagement Coordinator to design and carry out program activities aimed at increasing rates of voter registration and electoral participation among foreign-born Georgians and their surrounding communities. The Voter Engagement Coordinator will report directly to the Civic Engagement Manager and oversee a dynamic team of local field organizers to collectively carry out initiatives that work to register new voters, mobilize them to vote in upcoming elections, and provide meaningful educational experiences and opportunities for engagement that help foster a culture of voting and civic participation among the new Americans and surrounding communities of voters we serve.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES    

  • Co-lead New Americans Voter Registration project voter at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) naturalization ceremonies alongside coalition partners 
  • Regularly engage in recruitment, training, and management of voter engagement volunteers  
  • Represent New American Pathways at coalition and workgroup meetings and work collaboratively alongside external partners to successfully achieve project goals 
  • Work alongside Civic Engagement Manager to design program campaigns and associated outcomes, metrics, and larger work plan for carrying out campaign activities. 
  • Manage diverse team of community field organizers as part of approach to carrying out voter engagement campaign activities in areas of registration, mobilization, and education 
  • Build on existing base of community partnerships in Clarkston, Tucker, and Stone Mountain neighborhoods in efforts to register, mobilize, and educate voters 
  • Help establish new partnerships with community partners located in target expansion locations in Gwinnett, Cobb, and Forsyth counties.  
  • Oversee the quality control process of new voter registration forms-including scanning and uploading forms into Blocks software  
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of relevant data corresponding to program outcomes  
  • Navigate public sources of demographic data to strategically guide efforts in partnership building and voter outreach initiatives  
  • Manage voter databases and other digital organizing tools to carry out program activities  
  • Helps disseminate key information to new voter constituencies in creating graphics, flyers, videos, and other educational resources 
  • Create and lead presentations for diverse stakeholder audience of volunteers, organizational partners, and immigrant communities, respectively 

SKILLS AND PREFERRED EXPERIENCE   

  • Demonstrated history of working in voter registration and/or GOTV efforts in Georgia highly preferred; another grassroots community organizing experience is a plus  
  • Punctual and time-oriented; efficient in meeting tight deadlines  
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build and maintain strategic relationships  
  • Demonstrated history of setting and meeting goals  
  • Familiarity with VAN, Blocks, Hustle and other voter registration and GOTV software preferred  
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to successfully work with a team from a variety of cultural, ethnic, religious, and educational backgrounds.  
  • Commitment to the mission of New American Pathways and goals of the Civic Engagement department  
  • Willingness to work non-traditional hours and weekends  
  • Ability to travel across Metro Atlanta with your own vehicle – mileage will be reimbursed  
  • Fluency in another language is a plus   

COMPENSATION  

This is a full-time non-exempt, position with an annual salary range of $37,000 - $42,000 based on experience. 14 paid holidays and a generous paid time off policy. You can expect to work weekdays and some weekends (40 hours per week)
