End Citizens United//Let America Vote’s Mission: To fix our democracy by getting big money out of politics and protecting the right to vote. We will work to end our rigged political system by electing reform champions, passing meaningful legislative reforms, and elevating these issues in the national conversation. We will work in partnership with these champions to overturn Citizens United, end the unlimited and undisclosed money in politics, and protect and expand the right to vote.

 

 

Reports to: Vice President, Political & Executive Vice President, Action Fund

 

 

Job Summary: The Organizing Director will be instrumental in creating and executing a program that builds long-term infrastructure to mobilize our supporters and voters across the country to advance democracy reform issues. They will be responsible for designing and overseeing both traditional field campaigns and distributed and relational organizing. The Director will supervise a diverse team of organizing staff.

 

 

Primary Responsibilities: 

 

  • Work with the executive team to develop a long-term vision for the Organizing Department that helps build support and power across the country to advance democracy reform issues.

     

    Develop and oversee the execution of organizing programs to win both legislative and political campaigns.

     

    Oversee the execution of our distributed, relational, and traditional organizing programs.

     

    Craft a national and key state/district level volunteer recruitment, training, and retention plan.

     

    Build partnerships with organizations at both the national and local levels who share our goals on reforming our democracy.

     

    Manage a diverse staff, helping them harness their ideas to meet department goals.

     

    Maintain our data assets and other organizing tools.

     

    Perform additional duties as assigned.

     

 

 

Qualifications 

 

The Organizing Director must be a self-starter with at least 3-5 full years of organizing experience. They should have a strong interest in stopping big money in politics, protecting voting rights, and helping win issue and political campaigns. The Organizing Director should have experience creating and implementing traditional and distributed campaigns, managing staff, including remote staff, using distributed tools, and managing all campaign data using Votebuilder. They should possess excellent communication and organizational skills, strong attention to detail, an instinct for anticipating and creatively solving problems, the initiative to propose solutions and fill in voids, and be committed to the diversity of our candidates, membership, partners, and staff.

Our office and this position are based in Washington, DC; however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all positions are currently working remotely and work travel is suspended.
