Position Summary

The Donor Communications Manager is an integral part of the Development team, supporting the team in stewarding donors through special events and communication.  This position duties will include preparing impact reports, creating collateral materials, and project managing donor events. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support development team by developing and executing communication with donors.
  • Manage development event details and if needed logistics for donor events.
  • Create timelines for scheduled donor events and project manage for a successful outcome.
  • Coordinate with internal and external partners to ensure execution of events. 
  • Follow processes to request support work from other internal departments.
  • Work with the Development team and Marketing and Community team to create content for brochures and other collateral materials. 
  • Pull lists from internal database for invitations, donor emails and other mailings.
  • Prepare written content for donor reports and other communications pieces i.e. ROI packages for major donors, impact reports, letters etc.
  • Partner with department directors in managing a small group of members/donors.

 

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of fundraising principles and practices and the ability to think strategically about donor communications.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to research and organize information and data with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and coordinate multiple tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with a broad range of internal and external constituents.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Evidence of being self-starting, entrepreneurial and creative in forming and executing on ideas.
  • Ability to deliver excellent customer service and build relationships. 
  • Experience with CRM or donor management systems is a plus. (Tessitura preferred) 
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule if needed to support events.
