JOB TITLE: Communications and Sponsorship Program Coordinator

ACCOUNTABILITY: Program Director

FUNCTION: The Communications and Sponsorship Program Coordinator furthers BrightPoint’s vision to help vulnerable youth by serving our partners and their sponsors with excellent customer service and outstanding support. This position will serve as the lead on internal and external communications in addition to their sponsorship program responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

Communications:

  • Develop, write, and edit newsletters, emails, and other communication campaigns designed for our sponsor or donor community
  • Generate original ideas, write and edit the monthly blog entries for the BrightPoint website 
  • Create content and manage social media presence

  • Design and prepare templates to be used for child letters to sponsors
  • Create child packets and other materials that represent partner’s child sponsorship activities
  • Train co-workers as needed on communications design and implementation

Partner Relations:

  • Be familiar with all of Brightpoint’s partner organizations to understand each partner’s vision, strategy, and operations
  • Complete required tasks in order to meet partner’s child sponsorship objectives
  • Plan work to accomplish tasks in a timely manner
  • Communicate issues that may arise and work with supervisor/partner to resolve

Sponsor Support:

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for sponsor inquiries and respond to sponsor requests via telephone, email, etc., in a professional, courteous, and timely manner
  • Escalate issues to management for resolution support when necessary
  • Provide excellent customer support and follow-through that meets our stated service levels
  • Facilitate communication between sponsors and children by coordinating letter writing activities and tracking all sponsor/child touchpoints (letters, visits, photo updates, etc.)
  • Maintain accurate data in Salesforce accounts and records

Qualifications

  • Must be a legal resident of the United States of America
  • Bachelor’s Degree (Communications or related field) or an equivalent combination of education/experience is preferred
  • High level of accuracy and demonstrated history of attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products, photo editing, and publishing/presentation software
  • Experience with HTML; Adobe Lightroom, Photoshop, and/or InDesign; Social Media platforms
  • Experience with Salesforce Customer Relations Management software is an asset
  • Experience with mission trips to developing countries (or similar experience, i.e. Peace Corps) is helpful
