Description: The ReadyNation Senior Associate will work closely with ReadyNation Co-Global Directors to implement the organization’s strategic efforts to strengthen businesses and the economy through increased public investments in children and youth. This will include serving as lead on a variety of projects and activities as well as the targeted recruitment, engagement, and mobilization of business leaders.   

 

Status:    Full-time, regular, exempt            Hours per week:    40+

 

Roles and Responsibilities:    

 

  • Manage assigned portfolio and, as appropriate, team resources to ensure that all related deliverables are completed in a timely manner and within budget

     

    Assist in the planning and implementation of annual plan and budget

     

    Coordinate with ReadyNation state directors to support national business member engagement efforts and goals 

     

    Manage specific bodies of work, projects, issues and/or state work plans to advance advocacy efforts along the education continuum at both state and federal levels

     

    Develop and execute business member recruitment and engagement strategies in assigned DC-staffed states

     

    Secure opportunities to enhance ReadyNation visibility (e.g., presentations at national and state conferences, philanthropic gatherings, business meetings and community events)

     

    Partner with Council for a Strong America (CSA) constituent member networks and shared teams to jointly enhance CSA’s mission and member opportunities

     

    Develop and maintain strong relationships with important funders, key allies and business groups

     

    Assist with the execution of the capstone ReadyNation Global Business Summit and other international work, as directed

Skills, Competencies and Knowledge Required for the Position:

 

Essential Qualifications:                    

 

  1. Strong management, organizational, and leadership skills

     

    Ability to work with business groups and other allies as well as recruit business leaders

     

    Ability to develop and implement action plans on time and on budget

     

    Strong diplomacy skills and understanding of nuanced political and professional relationships

     

    Ability to juggle multiple projects at once, and respond rapidly and flexibly to changing priorities, while meeting deadlines

     

    Ability to work in a collegial manner with a diverse group of colleagues, in the national office and state offices

     

    Strong analytical skills with the ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations on complicated situations

     

    Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to persuade people to take action

     

    Willingness to travel (when safe to do so) 

     

    Proficiency with Google Drive/Microsoft Office Suite/Salesforce 

     

    Commitment to ensuring all kids get a good start in life.

     

Qualifications:

 

Required:  Experience with managing complex projects to successful completion and juggling competing priorities efficiently. 

 

Preferred:  Working knowledge of a membership-oriented organization, including member recruitment, and interacting with business leaders. Familiarity with policies affecting children and youth as well as the state and/or federal legislative process.  

 

Minimum experience required: Five -seven years of relevant experience
