 Position Summary

The VP, Marketing & Community Engagement will lead all aspects pertaining to marketing, communications, income development, and church engagement (including management of staff and contractors) for FaithBridge.  Reporting to the President & CEO and serving as a key member of the executive leadership team, the individual in this role must be a strategic, results-driven, self-motivated, creative, innovative thinker and servant-leader.  The VP, Marketing & Community Engagement must be a hands-on, metrics-driven leader that will help us expand the relationship with our clients, partners, churches, and donors by leading a cohesive, data-driven strategy to drive growth and impact for the entire organization.  This role will be responsible for scaling current channels and ultimately identifying compelling and impactful strategies that drive growth initiatives forward via the execution of original/unique campaigns that attract new constituent segments.  

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Play a leading role in creating and managing a plan to achieve sustainable, scalable, and replicable growth across all service and product offerings
  • Act as both an architect and steward of the brand by creating and telling stories and inviting customers to participate in the narrative; promote brand relevance; establish and maintain a consistent brand image throughout all service areas, promotional materials, and events
  • Develop robust marketing capabilities (e.g., technology fluency, digital expertise, customer data insights, data analytics) to help the organization compete in the future
  • Create breakthrough customer engagement offerings and advance marketing by leveraging technology platforms, alternative media, new tools and techniques; use data and business intelligence to help advance the growth agenda of the organization
  • Align the organization around customer centricity; represent the voice of the customer within the organization; utilize data insights and analytics to deliver superior personalized customer experiences and measurable business results
  • Conceive and execute a comprehensive “next generation” digital strategy; create, manage, and promote digital content and assets; capitalize on digital opportunities to broaden and deepen engagement with key target audiences
  • Lead all marketing efforts to drive growth in the number of foster children served including placement referrals received, foster child placements completed, and foster parents recruited, trained, licensed, and retained
  • Oversee all internal and external communications with current and prospective donors, media, foster families, interested parties, and church partners through appeals, letters, newsletters, publications, website, social media posts and all other organizational communication efforts
  • Lead all church partnership activities including identifying, recruiting, training, and supporting churches who will partner with FaithBridge to implement church-centered ministries to address the child welfare crisis in cities, counties and states throughout the United States
  • Manage all data capture activities and utilize data gathering and analysis tools within and outside of the FaithBridge data warehouse; perform meaningful analysis and develop actionable information on data from various sources including current programs, EHR and CRM systems, state and federal databases, surveys, and market data to advance FaithBridge’s vision, mission and goals
  • Oversee all income development and fundraising activities including donor research, identification, cultivation, acquisition, retention, and acknowledgements including the CRM system
  • Gauge progress toward goals with monthly and annual reporting; set performance objectives and metrics; monitor and provide periodic progress reports to CEO and senior leadership; effectively manage departmental budget
  • Lead and develop a team that is collaborative, innovative, and capable of supporting a climate of strategic growth
  • Manage all aspects of departmental staff including training, recruiting, hiring, coaching, mentoring, career development, and performance management
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (e.g., Business, Marketing, Communications); Master’s degree in business or marketing preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:  digital, direct, or strategic marketing, business analytics/intelligence, business development or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing staff, teams, programs, and budgets; experience developing leaders and building highly effective and engaged team
  • Demonstrated experience and proven results leveraging data analytics, brand development and management, storytelling, digital marketing (SEO/SEM, social media, website, email), print marketing, video production, customer data, CRM and marketing platforms, and market research to drive bottom line growth
  • Experience and success in managing fundraising initiatives; proven competence in a minimum of two of the following areas:  annual campaigns, capital campaigns, major gifts, planned giving, grants, sponsorships

  • Ability to make decisions and exercise good judgment in a changing environment; anticipates future needs, obstacles, and opportunities
