Job Details
Partners for Change is….
A community-based organization that works with tri-valley individuals and families break out of various forms of poverty including financial, spiritual, emotional, social, and relational. Initially, the participants attend a 14-20-week life skills course together as a group, and after completion, participants are paired up together through intentional relationships that have been created. The partnerships meet weekly, holding each-other accountable with goal setting, and expectations. After 18-24 months, participants are encouraged to contribute back to the community as a form of reciprocity.
We are seeking individuals who are willing to commit to 3-4 hours per week. Once a week on Tuesdays from 6pm-8pm (via Zoom until COVID-19 restrictions lifted), and then another 1-2 hours per week directly working with clients in poverty (homeless, low income housing) who desire to lift themselves out of poverty and make longterm changes in their lives.
We require all new mentors attend weekly group meetings on Tuesdays from 6pm-8pm to take part in the enriching anti-poverty curriculum with the clients in an effort to cross racial, cultural and socioeconomic lines.
