Launched in March 2020, the Long Beach Center for Economic Inclusion (LBCEI), a nonprofit community development corporation (CDC), is seeking a strong leader with experience building an organization to serve as Executive Director. LBCEI’s mission is to expand inclusive economic opportunities to build and sustain wealth for all communities in Long Beach with an emphasis on underserved areas. Reporting to the Board, the Executive Director will grow LBCEI into a robust, highly trusted, and vital resource aligned with partner organizations committed to meeting the needs of underserved individuals and communities in Long Beach. The Executive Director will seek out organizations (nonprofits and small businesses) in the community that support economic opportunities and connect them to resources to help them expand or grow the work they are doing in underserved communities.
LBCEI’s focus is on entrepreneurship and small business support; workforce and youth development; affordable housing and homeownership; and economic resiliency.
The ideal candidate will have ten years of relevant community economic development experience including at least three years of leadership experience. Candidates should have experience in fundraising, business development, and financial management. A bachelor degree is required and an advanced degree is desirable.
