Job Summary

Responsible for writing, editing, organizing and reviewing grant and contract proposals. Researches grant opportunities and prepares grant and contract proposals in accordance with university goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

• Writes grant proposals for private corporations and/or foundations

• Manages timely completion of grant deadlines and renewal applications

• Reports weekly progress according to established processes

• Researches grant opportunities and cultivates relationships with potential grantors

• Works with faculty and development directors in grant preparation

• Manages and maintains an accurate grant calendar

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in related field

Required Experience

Three (3) years of grant and/or contract writing experience

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Experience

Previous experience with higher education grant writing

Able to cultivate and foster relationships Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time meeting assigned deadlines

SKILLS

Proficient grant writing, contract preparation and sales skills Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e. Microsoft Office suite) Strong attention to detail and follow up skills Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
