The Phoenix is looking to scale our national impact and has a goal of reaching over one million people by 2025. As our Atlanta Program Manager, you'll help us establish a sober active community in a new market and potentially contribute to this growth in the larger region. You will lead and oversee existing programming operations while helping expand our reach in underserved communities.

The Atlanta Program Manager job is highly collaborative. You will work with local and national leadership, staff, volunteers, and local partners to build and implement strategies that diversify and scale our programming throughout the area. You will also be responsible for program management and evaluation, strategic planning, and staff development throughout the area. This position will focus on programming and engagement capabilities and will require an innovative approach to partnerships. You will leverage social media and other technologies to manage volunteer relationships, improve the productivity of your staff, and make informed decisions as needed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and cultivate relationships with staff, members, community partners, and donors to build a robust sober active community across Atlanta
  • Oversee all aspects of The Phoenix programming in Atlanta and surrounding communities, including supervising and developing local volunteers and program staff to ensure that they are meeting strategic goals
  • Facilitate partnership and community programming as needed
  • In partnership with fundraising staff, execute diverse fundraising strategies that position Phoenix for sustainability across Atlanta area. Fundraising efforts will primarily involve peer-to peer fundraising and relationship with high net-worth donors but may also include government and foundation grants, corporate sponsorships, and campaigns
  • Leverage partnerships when appropriate to amplify Phoenix's impact and generate revenue
  • Utilize data to maximize performance, drive value creation for members, and reduce waste
  • Leveraging national marketing talent and assets, establish and execute marketing strategy to advance awareness, member and volunteer acquisition, and online presence of Atlanta programs
  • Engage in talent acquisition and management processes such as interviewing, hiring, training, retention, discipline, and separation
  • Work closely with staff on Phoenix-wide policies and procedures; learn from and offer advice to others in a collaborative manner
  • Respond promptly, accurately and cordially to all inquiries
  • Be an ambassador for The Phoenix at all times
  • Complete other duties as assigned
  • Work evening and weekend hours
  • Travel for meetings as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to relate to people from all walks of life, particularly relationships with individual donors
    2-3 years' experience as a nonprofit leader
  • Experience with supervision, strategic planning, and program management
  • Certifications in relevant athletic disciplines (e.g., CF-L1, L-2, or L-3; NASM, NSCA, ACSM, or ACE Personal Trainer; AMGA-CWI, SPI, or Rock Guide; IMBA-L1; YT-200, etc.) & First Aid Certification (e.g. WFT, WFA, CPR)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to quickly adapt to change
  • Ability to use standard office equipment and computer software, including word processing, spreadsheet applications, and email
  • Alignment with Phoenix's guiding principles (healing culture, personal growth, professional growth, introspection and humility, being of service)
  • Ability to listen well and communicate effectively orally and in writing with various audiences
