Job Responsibilities. The Program Manager is a key role of HMHBGA’s leadership team.  In collaboration with the Executive Director, the program manager will support the planning, design, implementation, and evaluation of all Coalition programs.  The program manager will oversee the day-to-day implementation of each of our key Coalition programs.  Examples of these duties include but are not limited to:

  • Management and motivation of a team of 10+ staff members to successfully reach program and organizational strategic goals.
  • Cultivation of partnerships with key stakeholders including families, Coalition members, partner organizations, and funders.
  • Oversee the HMHBGA Perinatal Education Program, Building Perinatal Support Professionals Project, Maternal Mental Health initiatives, and their routine evaluation.
  • Support the management of all program-related grants including identification of new grant opportunities, tracking expenditures, reporting, and providing documentation to funders.
  • Present key program evaluation and metrics to the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and funders to ensure that the programs operate with high fidelity.
  • Work collaboratively with the Research & Policy Manager to run effective cross-sector working groups on behalf of HMHBGA.
  • Support marketing and communications efforts to increase program participation and bolster awareness of key HMHBGA issues.

Minimum Qualifications.

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Policy, Public Administration, Social Work or comparable field.  Bachelor’s degree accepted with a demonstrated track record of 3 or more years as a program manager in the nonprofit sector.
  • Must be dedicated to improving maternal and infant health in Georgia.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in grant management and reporting.
  • Demonstrated success in managing programs with budgets of $250,000 or more.
  • Strong organizational skills that reflect the ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail.
  • Very strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders, including staff, Board members, Coalition members, policymakers, and donors.
  • Dedication to diversity and inclusion, in all forms.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise, motivate and mentor team members to meet the goals of the organization.
  • Proven ability to conduct program evaluation, including the design of evaluation plan, tools and implementation.
  • Expert level written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated proactive approaches to problem-solving with strong decision-making capability.
  • Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also be extremely effective independently.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of service and response.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve high-performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to analyze and understand the potential impact of legislation and proposed policies.
  • Familiarity in working with cloud-based systems including, SharePoint, Google Drive, and Dropbox.
  • Must have experience in working with diverse groups of stakeholders to achieve a common goal. 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is required.

Preferred:

  • Ability to collect and analyze both quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Good understanding of social media marketing (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram).
  • Experience conducting surveys and analyzing data.
  • Experience in attaining certification as a Childbirth Educator and/or Doula.
  • Demonstrated experience in group facilitation (results-based facilitation is a plus).
