Program Coordinator

Direct Report:  Program Director

Department:  Receiving Center

Hours:  40+ hours per week, with flexibility if needed for coverage; on-call rotation required

Travel Requirements:  Moderate

Education and Experience: 

  • Certified Clinical MSW or LPC
  • Minimum five (5) years of experience in the field of social services or human service delivery, and
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in an administrative or supervisory capacity; OR
  • Experience providing services to youth or young adults, specifically those exposed to trafficking and complex trauma
  • Working knowledge of DFCS RBWO state licensure requirements for childcare programs
  • Experience providing services to children, specifically those who are survivors of commercial sexual exploitation (CSEC) or those exposed to trauma preferred

Position Summary:  The program coordinator provides leadership, oversight, and supervision of the staff, volunteers, and participants in the center.  This position is responsible for high quality program design, implementation, and results so that participants may benefit from therapy, education, and life skills training. 

Position Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):                                                                                          

Administration:  Staffing, Budget, Regulatory Compliance

  • Communicate effectively and professionally with all stakeholders
  • Interview and recommend for hire potential center staff who meet the criteria of a Mission Driven Professional
  • Supervise clinical coordinator, HSPs, and behavioral health supervisors
  • Work with behavioral health supervisors during emergent situations to ensure (and in some cases provide) coverage to remain in ratio
  • Lead and document weekly staff meetings
  • Lead monthly community meetings with program participants providing strength-based role modeling, direction, and decision-making
  • Collaborate with Program Director about programming, performance, and industry compliance including licensure regulations
  • Take lead responsibility in the completion of DJJ, DMST Quality Standards, OPM and RCC internal investigations and the development and implementation of corrective action plans
  • Evaluate staff annually and ongoing, assessing for training needs, preparing staff training plans, coordinate provision of needed and required annual training
  • Work with Program Director to maintain program budget compliance
  • Ensure that all policies and procedures are routinely followed, including but not limited to:
  • Recordkeeping
  • Intake procedures
  • Health and safety
  • Clinical services
  • Educational plans and progress
  • Emergency preparedness
  • Represent Wellspring Living in a positive and engaging way on tours, at development and fundraising activities, and events

Program Structure: Program Education and Life Skills Programming

  • Supervise all program operations under the direction of the Program Director
  • Oversee needed program and policy changes; write protocols and policies as needed
  • Build a healthy, trusting, cohesive team that works together well to accomplish the mission of the program
  • Define, implement, evaluate, and refine program curriculum and procedures
  • Utilize the strength-based approach in providing structure for the program
  • Ensure the development of individual service plans by the HSPs
  • Act as human service professional as needed
  • Provide training related to trauma-informed resources for trafficked victims as a part of the Institute
  • Provide care to program participants without regard to race, gender, ethnicity, religious or spiritual beliefs
  • Provide culturally competent care for participants wondering about their sexuality or gender identity, including those who may identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, gender-variant, or those who have questions

Qualifications:

  • Never have been shown by credible evidence (e.g., a court or jury, a department investigation, or other reliable evidence) to have abused, neglected, sexually exploited, or deprived a child or adult or to have subjected any person to serious injury as a result of intentional or grossly serious injury as a result of intentional or grossly negligent misconduct as evidenced by an oral or written statement to this effect obtained at the time of application and evidence of having made efforts to obtain and evaluate references from previous employers
  • Documentation of at least two professional, educational or personal references that attest to capability of performing the duties of the position and to suitability of working with or around children
  • Satisfactory preliminary criminal history background check determination and a satisfactory fingerprint records check determination as required by law
  • Satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)
  • Documentation from a licensed physician or other licensed healthcare professional of a health screening examination within thirty (30) days of hiring sufficient in scope to identify conditions that may place residents at risk of infection, injury or improper care
  • Current evidence of successful completion of a biennial training program in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and a triennial training program in first aid which have been offered by a certified or licensed health care professional; such programs shall be completed within the first year of employment
  • Participation in all required trainings and competency in areas of training content
