As the Creative Director, you’ll have the opportunity to transform the lives of thousands of children, turning oppression into opportunity and exponential impact, by growing our brand and inspiring our supporters.

As a member of the senior leadership team, you’ll curate an inspiring and impactful brand identity and voice, leading all creative direction for the organization. As Chief Storyteller, you’ll conceive, create and distribute a wide range of stories designed to celebrate and inspire all of our communities and supporters across multiple channels.. You’ll partner with the CEO and Marketing Director on all major marketing and campaigns, from conception through design and launch, iterating and innovating as we go. You’ll design creative assets, stories and videos designed to increase awareness and attract more supporters to join our mission, increasing annual revenue and growing our monthly giving community.

JOB SUMMARY

As the Creative Director, you will….

  • Own, iterate and grow the Many Hopes global brand and voice, impacting our three primary growth pillars (digital, experimental, personal)
  • Lead content creation and storytelling for all 6 global sites (Kenya, Bolivia, Ghana, Guatemala, Malawi, Peru)
  • Conceptualize and design all branding tied to Many Hopes campaigns, including idea generation and campaign execution through all channels (web, email, social, etc...)
  • Fully own and manage all email creation and design, evolving our storytelling and increasing engagement of our existing supporters
  • Partner with the Marketing Director to develop and strengthen our website design and presence focused on increasing traffic and conversion through a thoughtful user journey
  • Partner with the Marketing DIrector to develop an annual content calendar based on quantifiable goals
  • Conceive and create all of the visual and content assets to deliver against the content calendarLead video production, and coordinate with a team of storytellers and/or freelance photographers to capture Many Hopes’ stories locally
  • Travel to each Many Hopes site on the ground to capture local, compelling content which will surprise and delight our existing supporters as well as new audiences
  • Proactively contribute to the success of the entire organization and team, serving as an ambassador of our values and our mission internally and externally

JOB REQUIREMENTS

To be effective in this role, you must:

  • Be passionate about Many Hopes, our mission, our team, our beneficiaries, and our supporters.
  • Have 8 years experience working as a creative and at least 5+ years of experience in a leadership role
  • Have an astute understanding and deep desire to learn about our brand and our values so you can  communicate through our marketing the importance of our work and why someone should get involved 
  • Thrive in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced and ambiguous environment
  • Have a brand vision and be able to articulate it
  • Have experience designing beautiful campaigns from scratch that drive growth and engagement, defining value propositions and key features, and communicating clearly with stakeholders
  • Be comfortable and confident rolling up your sleeves and doing the work yourself. We’re a lean team and we all pitch in to make sure everything we release into the world is excellent and inspiring
  • Be an excellent collaborator and communicator with a desire to work cross-functionally and a willingness to advocate for your ideas while being open and inclusive of different perspectives
  • Act as a results-oriented leader, who outlines clear performance metrics, data, and analytics in order to deliver against KPIs and constantly drive results
  • Use internal and external data to tell a compelling brand story, and able to provide regular quantitative and qualitative results to CEO and Board
  • Act as a self-motivated driver and leader, who can work autonomously

NICE TO HAVES

This experience would give you a leg up….

  • Hands on experience working as a photographer and/or videographer
  • Proficiency in Spanish and international experience
  • Experience managing agencies and/or a team of creatives

 

 

LOCATION: We are a remote-first team, and are willing to work in any US location, although core team working hours are largely in EST. This opportunity is open to any applicant eligible to work in the U.S. or have an existing U.S. work permit.
