As one of the best comprehensive human services organizations in the western United Sates, the Weingart Center is seeking a seasoned executive to serve as its next Chief Finance and Administrative Officer.

The Weingart Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency that provides homeless individuals with the basic tools necessary to stabilize their lives, secure income, and find permanent housing. Whatever obstacles – debt, addiction, criminal record, mental illness, or physical illness – the Weingart Center helps clients overcome these challenges and clear the way for a fulfilling life. As a leader in advocating for homeless individuals and increasing the supply of permanent supportive and affordable housing stock, the Weingart Center has grown its operating budget to $17 million and continues to be on a steep growth trajectory with over 800 entitled units in the pipeline. Under the leadership of the CEO and the guidance of the COO, the Chief Finance and Administrative Officer (CFAO) will provide leadership and strategic direction for the financial and administrative affairs of the organization. The CFAO will carry out the organization’s mission as it pertains to financial plans and policies, daily organizational financial activities, internal controls, financial risk management, facilities, security, food services, housekeeping, and human resources. The ideal candidate will have proven success in managing growth and change in an institution with five or more years in a senior level functional role. The successful candidate will possess a profound respect for the people served and have an understanding or interest in the policy and program needs of housing and other programs designed to serve low income and homeless individuals. Prior experience/exposure working with permanent supportive and affordable housing, construction finance, social services and homeless funders is highly desirable. Familiarity with the process and accounting required for government funding is strongly preferred. Although the individual could come from a variety of fields, the CFAO will ideally have experience in a complex nonprofit organization with multiple funding sources. A Bachelor’s degree is required; an MBA and/or CPA is preferred. The salary range is $150,000 to $200,000, based on experience.
