JOB DESCRIPTION: PART TIME
WORK HOURS: NIGHTS/WEEKENDS/HOLIDAYS
Job Summary: Assists and oversees the day to day operations of Solomon’s Temple’s emergency and transitional housing program. Provide direct services to shelter families and assist families with connecting to the appropriate resources and referral. Assist with intake, orientation and shelter tours. Document daily communication log, client files, and record all necessary documentation. Be available and visible to families at all times. Responsible for providing a shelter environment that is safe, empowering, and supportive to all women and children. Must be able to work from a client centered approach and handle difficult situations with innovative care.
Job Responsibilities
- Supervise safety and daily activity of families and their children. Complete hourly safety checks and document findings
- Work closely with security to maintain a safe environment for all
- Properly document all notable activity in communication log and family’s files
- Assist families with getting needed supplies and toiletries
- Assist and provide direction and guidance during all meals, chores and recreational activities
- Assist all families with complying with shelter program rules
- Assist families with appropriate referrals and resources
- Assist families with exit and retrieving their belongings
- Monitor the flow of families daily
- Assist families with chores and supplies
- Enforce all agency guidelines and provide appropriate disciplinarian action
- Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, intake, orientation, transfer and discharges
- Monitor and manage all agency supplies, donations and resources. Disperse appropriately
- Assist with transportation to and from events
- Assist with maintaining staff offices and other housekeeping duties
- Assist with minor janitorial and maintenance chores daily
- Attend mandatory meetings
- Always maintain a professional attitude and treat families with respect and dignity
- Perform all related duties as assigned or as circumstances dictate for special needs or events.
- Assist with overseeing and reporting maintenance issues in a timely manner
- Assist with the recruiting, training and placement of volunteers
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with Families, colleagues and supervisors in a professional manner
