Job Title: Communications & Marketing Manager     

Category: Full-Time; Day and Evening Hours   

Weekly Hours:  37.50  

PURPOSE:  To foster a culture of philanthropy within the organization and community.  Plan, implement, and set priorities for the organization’s communication efforts, with Chief Executive Officer and appropriate volunteers/consultants.  Execute effective communications plan.  

The Communications and Marketing Manager oversees branding and strategic communications efforts to maximize agency engagement and visibility.  The Communications and Marketing Manager spearheads the continued development and implementation of a comprehensive, company-wide external communications plan. This role is responsible for developing and managing CFR’s multimedia outreach, digital communications such as website and social media, internal and external messaging, public relations and agency branding guidelines. 

PRIMARY DUTIES:  

  • Develop and implement the annual communication plan across the agency’s various constituents. 
  • Manage the development and execution of the marketing calendar to include both strategic and tactical programs. 
  • Manage outside advertising, promotion or production agency relationships to develop and execute campaigns, promotions and support materials.  
  • Develop social media strategy and oversee development and management of content and activity. 
  • Oversee company’s public relations plan. 
  • Oversee company website including content. 
  • Evaluate results for media campaigns to support the development and refinement of future plans. 
  • Assist in branding initiatives with the CEO and external resources, including brand identity, key messaging and brand guidelines. 
  • Manage the development (content, design and maintenance) of all print and electronic collateral, including, but not limited to, newsletters, brochures, annual report, program flyers, scripts, PSAs and promotional videos. 
  • Manage all media contacts and maintain working relationships with media; serve as organizational spokesperson as needed. 
  • Write and issue all press releases, fact sheets, testimonials and related materials; seek out, create and pitch new story ideas. 
  • Oversee the design collateral and provide logistics support for all CFR fundraising events. 
  • Ensure marketing communications are coordinated across appropriate functions and departments. 
  • Serve on Marketing and Communications Committee of the Board of Directors. 
  • Ensure brand standards are maintained in all marketing efforts. 
  • Participate in related community activities and promote the organization’s mission and programs throughout the community. 

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS: 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field or equivalent experience. 

Experience: Qualified candidates will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the field of communications, public relations and marketing, including experience in coordinating an organization’s social media presence.  Non-profit organization experience preferred.   

Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent computer skills in MS - Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Adobe Creative Suite and other online software (including Google Analytics, Social Media, etc.). Strong project management and organizational skills with proven problem-solving abilities. Ability to work cross-functionally and build working relationships through collaboration, influence and negotiation to successfully accomplish a task. Strong relationship management skills – ability to provide clear direction and effectively manage external agencies and resources. Ability to work both independently and with a team.

Constraints

Physical:   Able to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time and be able to bend and lift light to medium size objects.
