Overview

ESW is striving to have a measurable impact on 100 communities a year (and 500 a year by 2030) and your role is crucial in building awareness, spreading the word, and telling inspiring stories about ESW sustainability initiatives through all our social media platforms.

The Social Media Manager is responsible for managing our social media platforms. The manager will be in charge of building a comprehensive social media strategy that will be carried out by themselves and the Social Media Coordinator. The manager will identify ideal channels for ESW to communicate to its audience through and will help identify new audiences. The manager will also be in charge of creating and managing metrics to measure success.

Engineers for a Sustainable World (ESW) is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering engineers to tackle sustainability challenges.  We believe that engineers, and anyone who loves to solve problems, are key to solving today's biggest sustainability challenges. Founded in 2002, ESW is an international network of over 1,750 members and more than 45 collegiate chapters working to build a more sustainable world through technical hands-on projects. Since its founding, ESW has supported over 300 chapter-led projects in 12 countries and 23 states and Canadian provinces.

 

Responsibilities 

  • Build a comprehensive social media strategy
  • Identify ideal channels for ESW communication
  • Identify new audiences
  • Create and manage metrics to measure success
  • Monitor analytics from our social media platforms and website
  • Attend weekly MarComm meetings

 

Qualifications

  • Leadership experience
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Positive and enthusiastic attitude 
  • Experience running social media accounts and growing followings
  • Experience with google analytics or equivalent
  • Be passionate about sustainability, and agree with our Mission, Vision, and Values
