Jewish Family & Career Services “JF&CS” is a Georgia non-profit organization with a roughly 13 million dollar budget.  The agency makes hope and opportunity happen by providing integrated programs and services that maximize self-sufficiency and quality of life.  The JF&CS Foundation holds the agency’s endowment and restricted fund assets. JF&CS is now seeking an Emergency Assistance Case Manager.

PURPOSE:

This position will be responsible for intake, financial/need assessment, financial assistance recommendations, case management, and coordination of services to address financial and non-financial barriers.  The program provides financial assistance for Jewish and general community individuals and families in need of gap funds for rent, food, medical copays, gas, car payment, insurance payment, work clothes, etc.; and longer term assistance to include case management and interest free loans.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties as assigned.

  • Perform intakes and financial/needs assessments to identify eligibility, degree of financial assistance, need for referral/service coordination, and/or need for ongoing case management. Develop individualized service plans and track plan progress/outcomes with client’s receiving case management.
  • Engage and build relationships with clients in telehealth and in-person settings.  
  • Make financial assistance recommendations for clients based on needs assessment
  • Work collaboratively with community partners like synagogues, and other Jewish and broader community organizations to leverage resources for the benefit of the clients served through this initiative
  • Provide information and referrals to clients by working collaboratively with JF&CS and other organizational professionals
  • Gather data to track outcomes and support program evaluation
  • Conduct outreach to partners and individuals in the community to increase program enrollment
  • Attend meetings as required

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge/experience working with and resources for emergency assistance and vulnerable populations. Proficient communication and computer skills, as well as strong organizational, outreach, financial and volunteer management skills and have an entrepreneurial spirit to continue the growth development of this community-wide service.  Candidate should also be comfortable working independently with minimal supervision. 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Ideal candidate would have a strong background in working with vulnerable populations and be familiar with community resources. MSW or BSW preferred and own transportation required. Demonstrated familiarity with providing social services to the Jewish Community strongly preferred.
