Title: Information Technology Manager
Department: Operations
Reports to: Director of Operations
Summary -
IT Administrator is responsible for the planning, managing and coordination of the day-to-day operations of the business applications, and all infrastructure related to the Information Technology Department. Provides direct management of the overall IT network operations. Participates in the implementation of approved information technology projects and serves as the liaison for technology needs within the company. Must have customer service and problem-solving skills.
Essential Duties and responsibilities
Monitor performance of information technology systems to determine cost and productivity levels, and makes recommendations for improving the IT Infrastructure
Develop innovated network troubleshooting methods for both hardware and software issues related to internal IT, that reduce downtime and lower repair costs
Work closely with COO and Director of Operations to determine the maintenance and growth needs of the network for the company
Monitor changing network technology and deliver a technology update to the COO and Director Operations each month
Responsible for creating and administering disaster plans that will keep the company functional in the event of a crisis
Determine the rationale and methods for upgrading company network software programs each time an update is released.
Help define IT infrastructure strategy, architecture and process.
Running regular checks on network and data security
Developing and implementing IT policy and best practice guides for the organization
Conducting regular system audits
Overseeing and determining timeframes for major IT projects including system updates, upgrades, migrations and outages
Assist with designing training programs and workshops for staff
Assess, develop and implement security programs. Install and manage these systems, conduct updates, create passwords and run check for viruses and spyware.
Maintain data retrieval processes in the event of emergencies. Create and manage the use of backup and retrieval systems.
Be familiar with all aspect of project management, such as budgeting and scheduling, and exercise strong time management skills. The ability to work independently as needed, manage teams and apply analytical skills
Other Duties as assigned
Education/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Business Systems Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems or a related field. Relevant experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis. Three years of systems administration, including one year of supervisory experience and knowledge of assigned functional area
