Job Details

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Direct counsel with applicants seeking NFCC services.   Conduct interviews, financial needs assessment and resource and referral services that lead to homeless prevention and build on self-sufficiency.

  • Provide or coordinate services to address the needs of participants.  Services might include: emergency financial assistance, referrals and resources for financial counseling, child care, domestic violence, substance abuse, mental health, educational services, health care, transportation, emergency services.

Emphasis on collaboration with other NFCC direct service platforms to support clients in building self-sufficiency and working with other community service providers to add stability to the household.

  • Network with organizations to benefit program and participants and grow the NFCC mission and reach.
  • Maintain participant case files and other documentation necessary for the evaluation of individual and program progress, and report data deliverables and narratives to Director.  Facilitate data collection and create accurate records in Salesforce and Client Track/HMIS.
  • Perform other tasks and assignments as deemed appropriate by the supervisor.  Includes staff development and training programs and support of other NFCC operations.
  • Complete individual plans with clients including goals and desired outcomes. Contribute to the development and growth of programs for clients.
  • Volunteer engagement and appreciation.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

  • Ability to work in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of current homeless and affordable housing issues and methods/approaches to address challenges.
  • Maturity and experience in successfully working with financially vulnerable constituents.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, ability to relate to people and accept individual differences.
  • Experience working with low-income families preferred.
  • Knowledge of the principals and practices of case management.
  • Ability to maintain professional ethics and confidentiality of client information.
  • Ability to schedule and manage workload sufficiently to meet deadlines
  • Willingness to work with culturally diverse populations
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Bilingual skill a plus.
