The Summer Communications Intern produces news features, blog posts and multimedia content for CRE Insight Journal (www.creinsightjournal.com). CRE Insight Journal creates articles, video and real estate industry education information that focus on enhancing the career paths of individuals responsible for maintaining and operating high-performing real estate assets across the globe.

The commitment to this internship is 40 hours a week for 10 weeks (preferably in May, June, July, and/or August, based on the intern’s summer schedule). This position supports the BOMA Georgia Communications Office and reports to the Director of Communications and Technology. In this role, the intern will be responsible for producing a minimum of five blog posts per week between 300 and 800 words. Content may be published immediately or reserved for future publication. This position will also be responsible for social media messaging, video production, and the eNewsletter for the brand.

The communications intern may also have an opportunity to work with and create content for other BOMA Georgia platforms.

Basic Qualifications:
Must have excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills; attention to detail and accuracy; and experience researching, writing and reporting on technical topics. Also desired: experience with blogging and social networking sites; experience producing video or slideshows for the Web, including use of editing software; and photography skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Highly motivated, deadline-driven undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited college or university with substantial coursework directly related to journalism. Training in building operations and maintenance is highly advantageous.

Experience with the following software is important to success:

  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Adobe Creative Cloud, to include Photoshop and Adobe Spark
  • Adobe Premiere Pro
  • WordPress Blogging Platform
