In January of next year, Make-It-Click, Inc. will be electing several new members to join our Board of Directors. We are looking for board members who believe in our mission and are willing to be active in their governance roles. We believe that this work has never been more important that it is today. We are looking for someone whose experience and involvement in the community would be an asset to our organization, and we hope that you will consider to be a part of our organization.
Make-It-Click, is a Youth Engagement Diversion program designed to prevent the criminalization of Black girls and LGBT-GNC youth of color ages 12 to 15 by reducing referrals from schools to the juvenile justice system through African-centered interventions, mentoring, and school-justice partnerships.
Make-It-Click, Inc. is developing its Board of Directors, through a deliberate recruitment process focused on specific skills, backgrounds, and geographic locations, to support the continued growth and development of the organization. Make-It-Click, Inc. is recruiting board members with skills in the areas of fundraising, event planning, and general development. Diversity is welcomed, including from faith-based environments. Representation from throughout the state of Georgia, especially from major employers and nonprofit providers, is especially desirable.
Make-It-Click Board Members are expected to attend five board meetings per year, serve actively on the Community Action Board (CAB) of the organization, make a personal financial contribution commensurate with means, advocate and attend at least one legislative meeting annually, and make at least three contacts annually to assist the organization in acquiring resources to support the mission. Make-It-Click, Inc.’s board members serve a two-year term of service and are eligible for additional two-year terms of service.
While we do ask that our board members to play an active role, we pride ourselves on supporting each other as a team believe and believe that we offer an opportunity for our members to learn and grow with the organization.
