JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of the Vice President, Marketing & Communication, the Marketing & Communications Director will support all marketing and communications efforts of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta (BGCMA). The Marketing & Communications Director will serve as the secondary internal and external contact for marketing for the organization. The Director will also oversee and manage the Marketing & Communications Manager and the Marketing Intern.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:
 Oversee strategy and execute integrated communication efforts for the organization during key push periods throughout the year.
 Lead overall media relations strategy and execution including developing overall plan, maintaining key relationships, and writing key press materials including releases, media advisories, and pitches.
 Lead overall social strategy and execution for the organization including content generation, social media calendar, and targeting to key stakeholder groups.
 Research statistics and lead development of infographics illustrating key organizational challenges, successes, and needs.
 Lead video production for marketing related projects.
 Work with Individual Giving team to co-manage direct mail firm including overall strategy, content review and editing, and distribution strategy.
 Support efforts for e-mail communications, including content generation and editing.
 Assist with maintaining the BGCMA website and create content as needed.
 Assist with project management and execution of key printed marketing collateral.
 Assist with other marketing projects as needed.
 Administrative duties to include filing, light typing, mailings, assembly of sales kits.


EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Education

 Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, or related field

Experience
 Experience executing overall marketing strategy for year-long campaign
 Experience with media outreach, placement, and relationship building
 Experience managing social channels including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and others
 8 –12 years of experience in marketing field or related education
 Fundraising and nonprofit-related experience preferred
Skills
 Excellent written and verbal communication skills
 Strong interpersonal skills
 Detail and deadline oriented and comfortable performing multi-faceted projects
 Computer literate (knowledge of Raiser’s Edge a plus)
 Integrity in dealing with confidential volunteer information
 Professional manner in dealing with media, volunteers, corporate sponsors and vendors
 Knowledge of design programs, InDesign, Illustrator or Photoshop a plus


ENVIRONMENT & WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities. Ability to get along with diverse personalities while always displaying tact, maturity and flexibility. Maintains internal contact with the President, Board of Directors, and staff to obtain and exchange information and coordinate activities and develop strategic initiatives. Maintains contact with external community organizations, individuals and board members.
Normal internal office environment with weekly need to travel to club locations within the Metro Atlanta area. Frequent internal contact with employees throughout organization required. Physical requirements include walking, climbing stairs, and sitting for four plus hours per day. Light work, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently.
