Quick Overview: If you are someone who is passionate about volunteering for a non-profit, have an eye for identifying fundraising opportunities, then please consider a volunteer opportunity as a grant writer/researcher. We are looking for an experienced grant writers/fundraisers/networkers who can research, and identify, funding as well as develop, write and submit proposals, letters, reports and other materials as necessary to secure grant support from foundations, corporations, and government funding sources to support Raising BeYOUtiful Butterflies (RBB). The pro bono grant researcher/writer we are looking for will familiarize themselves with the organization's programs, goals financial needs, have excellent writing, grammar, and communication skills. For this specific position, we are looking for individuals with past grant writing and/or researching experience working with small and/or large non-profits like ours.

Raising BeYOUtiful Butterflies ("RBB"), a mentoring and empowerment organization. Our mission is to educate and empower girls ages 4-21 by inspiring them to recognize and embrace their own potential to be confident, self-sufficient, unique, determined, and powerful in their lives as well as in their communities, while encouraging sisterhood.  In our work with girls, RBB aim is nothing less than empowerment. RBB defines an empowered girl as someone who knows her strengths and capabilities, isn’t afraid to embrace them, an active learner in school, a confident actor in her family and community, and ready to take on her biggest dreams. She believes in herself, knows her possibilities are endless, and lives in a community where she is treated equally, where parents, peers, and role models supports her growth and her goals. 

Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities: Investigate and identify prospective funding sources. Research, develop, and write inquiries, letters, and other fundraising documents. Draft compelling grant proposal narratives and other correspondence to solicit grant funds. Track and monitor proposals, their deadlines, and requirements.

Desired Qualifications: Experience in philanthropy and non-profit organizations who understands the art of persuasion and donor/volunteer cultivation. Working knowledge of MS Office. Demonstrate strong planning, communication, and organizational skills Excellent writing, grammar, and research skills. Please supply examples of successful Grant Writing campaigns in which you have been involved. The Grant Writing Volunteer Candidate will work with our executive staff and Board of Directors to develop grant materials, strategies, and in-kind resources, and new program developments to help build and scale our organization.
