For more than 40 years, MUST Ministries has established itself as a servant leader caring for those in need in the Marietta, Smyrna and Canton/Cherokee county communities.  Founded in 1971 by the Rev. Wayne Williams, MUST Ministries’ initial programs included a grocery bus ministries for the elderly, a youth tutoring program and outreach ministries to "alienated" young people.  Today, MUST is helping people in the community break the cycle of poverty by providing basic needs such as groceries, hot meals, housing, emergency shelter, employment services and clothing.  MUST Ministries is a non-profit entity and provides all services for free and without regard to race or religious beliefs.

General Description:

The Donation Center is the hub of all operations for MUST Ministries Programming. It’s vital for staff in this department to understand the role of the donation center in the organization as a whole and the level of responsibility associated with it. The Operations Coordinator will be responsible for keeping the Donation Center organized, clean, and safe while receiving and organizing in kind donations and supervising volunteers and community service workers.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe donation center.
  • Assist Sr. Operations Manager in coordinating annual inventory counts of both warehouses.
  • Receive and organize in kind donations in a professional and timely manner.
  • Fulfill and organize product request orders from MUST Program Centers.
  • Maintain open communication with Donation Center Sr. Operations Manager and Sr. Director of Program Operations on product inventory levels and shortages.
  • Drive MUST Box Truck to deliver food, clothing, and furniture to all MUST locations as needed. Drive MUST Box Truck to pick up food donations and deliver barrels as needed.
  • Load and unload MUST truck with the assistance of volunteers and/or community service workers.
  • Supervise workload of volunteers and community service workers to ensure all tasks are completed daily.
  • As a backup, provide brief orientation and train community service workers on task for the day while emphasizing the level of excellence and standards required of them in their volunteer position. Engage volunteers on other ways to be involved with MUST Ministries.
  • Maintain safe working environment for volunteers and community service workers.
  • Perform other duties as required. 
  • Represent MUST Ministries in the most positive and professional manner with volunteers, donors, clients, suppliers, the community we serve, and other MUST employees. 
  • Uphold the Mission Statement and Core Values of MUST Ministries.
  • Handle all information with tact and discretion and recognize the confidential nature of MUST Ministries.

    Essential Requirements:

  • Punctual and regular attendance with a professional appearance & demeanor
  • Prior inventory control experience of at least a year.
  • Candidate must be detail oriented and highly organized.
  • Excellent customer service skills as well as excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work and interact with a diverse variety of individuals.
  • Ability to operate a hand truck, dolly, wheeled carts and pallet jack; Prior forklift experience a plus.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and compliance with MUST driver guidelines.
  • Ability to drive a box truck. CDL not required but a plus.
  • Follow OSHA safety procedures.

    Physical and Work Requirements:

  • Stand: Remaining on one’s feet in an upright position on a concrete surface for extended periods of time
  • Walking: Moving about on foot while carrying product throughout warehouse.
  • Lifting: Raising or lowering an object from one level to another (includes upward pulling) 50+ lbs. Heavy lifting, usually more than 50 lbs, is always done with a partner and/or the use of hand truck, dolly, wheeled carts or pallet jacks.
  • Carrying: Transporting an object, usually holding it in the hands or arms, or on the shoulder.
  • Pushing: Exerting force upon an object so that the object moves away from the force. Heavy pushing is always done with a partner and/or machinery.
  • Pulling: Exerting force upon an object so that the object moves toward the force (includes jerking). Heavy pulling is always done with a partner and/or machinery.
  • Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist, requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.
  • Kneeling: Bending legs at knees to come to rest on knee or knees.
  • Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
