POSITION SUMMARY:

Quest Financial Services (QFS) is an organizational representative payee program that provides financial management services to the Social Security Administration (SSA) and Veterans Administration (VA). 

The Benefits Disbursement Specialist in Quest Financial Services performs and manages a variety of duties that include processing of documents, recording, retrieving, and distribution of data.

The Benefits Disbursement Specialist is responsible for the financial management activities for beneficiaries receiving Social Security or VA Benefits.  The Benefits Disbursement Specialist is required to use good judgment and exercise a high degree of independence in making decisions regarding processing payments for the SSA or VA Fiduciary Clients that include adhering to all established policies & procedures.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Collects, sorts, batches, alphabetizes, codes, and/or place in order various documents for filing, storage, or processing.
  • Prepares and processes bills, invoices, receipts, statements, deposits, checks, debit cards, and other financial documents as they pertain to the consumer.
  • Receives and responds to inquiries by vendors, referral sources, collaborative partners by providing instructions or referring such inquiries to the appropriate persons.
  • Check documents for completion and accuracy according to the policies and procedures of Quest.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, finance, or equivalent experience
  • Experience preparing and processing bills, invoices, receipts, statements, deposits, checks, debit cards, and other financial documents
  • Two (2) years of customer service experience
  • Willing to work with homeless individuals with diverse backgrounds and disabilities 
  • Knowledge of general office practices 
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word & Excel)
