Campaign Canvassers and Team Leaders  -  Sara Gideon for Senate!

Hiring Immediately -  $22-30/hr + bonuses, Full-time & Part-time

We need strong leadership in the Senate. A Senator who will defend access to healthcare for Mainers with pre-existing conditions and fight for Medicaid expansion. A Senator who will protect the reproductive health and rights of all in Maine, through laws, decisions on judicial nominations, and more.  A Senator who is an outspoken leader for women, LGBTQ communities, and the people of Maine. Sara Gideon is that Senator for Maine. Join us in helping Sara Gideon get elected this fall on this exciting campaign. Door-to-door canvassers will engage with voters in a friendly and safe way to inform them of Gideon’s political stances and help them make a plan to vote for her.

We have experience doing this work during the COVID19 pandemic and have developed strict health and safety protocols that include a contactless approach to keep our staff and communities safe - we provide all of the training and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) you will need!

Locations: Portland - North & Lewiston, ME

We are hiring immediately, all positions run through early November with possibilities for advancement afterwards. Shifts are available everyday with the possibility to work part-time or full-time.

Canvasser Responsibilities ($22-28/hr):

- Engage with the public in a friendly and professional manner

- Deliver a compelling script, and collect complete survey answers from voters

- Strictly follow the campaign's safety protocols, including the use of PPE and compliance with daily health and safety guidelines

Team Leader Responsibilities ($24-30/hr):

-The Canvasser Responsibilities plus:

-Manage a small group of canvassers out in the field by checking in with them periodically throughout the day and debriefing with them at the end of the day

-Ensure each canvasser has all of the materials they need to be safe and successful

-Assist directors with canvasser training and administrative work

The ideal candidate is:

-Charismatic, energetic, and passionate about progressive politics and fostering democracy

-Experienced with providing customer service; you should enjoy working with other people and be willing to speak with everyone

-Goal-oriented, determined, motivated and able to see the bigger picture

Prior canvassing experience is a plus but not required.

Pay and Benefits: Base pay is $22/hr for canvassers and $24/hr for Team Leaders.  Staff are eligible for bonuses up to $250 a week for working full time and earn daily $50 bonuses for working longer shifts.  Drivers receive an additional $20 per day and everyone receives a $5/day bonus for using their own smartphone while working. We also provide paid training, sick pay, and bonuses for friend referrals ($300/referral). All full-time staff have the option to opt into our company healthcare plan.
