About Us: Uplift Georgia’s primary aim is to expand the quality of life experiences of lower to middle income apartment complex residents at Dwell Communities. We have helped to create a community with a warm and open environment where kids are EAGER to learn, and parents are INVESTED in their child’s development. The Learning Pod Instructor role with Uplift GA really provides impactful programming for our students.



About The Role: This role will allow you to work in a warm community environment where the staff and residents care for one another. Our parents and students are invested in their education and work in partnership with our teachers to ensure a quality education experience for our students. This role will have creative freedom when it comes to lesson planning. A successful candidate will have some experience working with children (camp counselor, sunday school teacher, after-school program teacher, volunteer, etc.)


Job Duties: A successful candidate will be able to assist children with logging into their virtual learning environment, as well as provide tutoring, and social-emotional support. Bilingual (Spanish Speaking) candidates preferred. 


  • Work alongside the Community Coordinator and Director of Community 


    Knowledgeable about the platform students will use for their virtual classroom


    Manages the virtual school schedules of community classroom students efficiently.


    Provides academic assistance and instruction as needed in order for students to complete and submit assignments.


    Communicates with students’ online teachers as a student and parent advocate.


    Fully utilizes provided resources and participates in all training opportunities concerning virtual schooling offered by the partner school.


    Effectively manages all classroom activities.


    Maintains high expectations and positive classroom behavior


    Makes every effort to trouble-shoot and solve or get assistance for any technical difficulty encountered.


    Ensures that the Community Classroom is secure, clean and well-maintained.


    Maintains social distance guidelines and safety procedures. 


Job Qualifications: 


  • All employees must submit criminal background check


    Experience working with elementary/middle aged students  (classroom/tutoring experience preferred)


    High School diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s preferred)


    Excellent organizational skills 


    Passion for helping children to succeed to the best of their ability in academic endeavors and a growth mindset of overcoming obstacles with perseverance and hard work.

Days: Monday- Friday


Time: 3:30pm-5:30pm 


Length of Role: Seasonal (pending school reopening plans) 


Location: Dwell @ 1794 (Community Classroom) 


Rate of Pay: $20/hr
