International Development Internship

Position Overview:

The Development Intern is an exciting opportunity to impact the progression of a small but dynamic nonprofit organization, taking an autonomous and proactive role in building necessary resources. This internship is a great stepping stone for early-career professionals to establish themselves in the nonprofit sector, and more seasoned professionals to transition into working in the non-profit sector. Our hope is that you leave the internship with a toolkit of relevant skills and an understanding of the fundamentals and inner workings of a small non-profit. 

The first phase of this internship is focused on learning. You will provide critical support to the Development staff on the execution of grant applications and management of fundraising databases. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to develop online content. Over the course of the internship, you will receive bi-weekly one-on-one coaching with Imagine Scholar’s Associate Director, who leads the organization’s development efforts. These will include guidance on prospect research, developing meaningful donor relationships, stewardship, and event planning, amongst other skills. Additionally, you will receive at least two coaching sessions from Imagine Scholar’s Executive Director, on non-profit management and administration. 

As you learn about the different facets of non-profit development, you will then create and execute your own fundraising campaign, and drive online engagement to support the organization’s fundraising efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and execute an independent fundraising campaign

   

  Assist in CRM data management 

   

  Contribute to social media and content marketing

   

  Assist in copy editing and research for donor communication, grant writing, etc

   

  Recruiting

   

  Continual learning and bi-directionally sharing knowledge

   

Candidates Will Have:

• Self-starter mentality, ability to work independently

   

  Creativity

   

  Excellent written and oral communication skills

   

  Passion for learning and continual personal & professional development 

   

  Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required

• Commitment: Part-time (10-15 hours/week)
