Location: Marietta, GA (preference given to candidates living in Marietta)
Job Type: Hourly, part-time, currently 20-25 hours per week, MWF. Occasional, brief work with clients at other times, including weekends, may be required.
Reports to: Marietta Educational Garden Center Board of Trustees Chairperson and Marietta Council of Garden Clubs President
POSITION PURPOSE
Through direct partnership and with guidance/approval from both Boards, the Executive Director is responsible for executing the strategy and day to day operations of the non-profit Marietta Educational Garden Center.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Responsible for all operations and management of non-profit including:
- customer special event sales and site-only event management
- fundraising/project management for Board-sponsored events
- property management (historic home)
- accounting/bookkeeping
- vendor management
- routine member communications and logistical support
- program coordination and volunteer management
Must actively engage and partner with the Board of Trustees and Council Board to achieve non-profit mission.
NATURE AND SCOPE
Provides primary support to the Board of Trustees and Council Board, as needed.
Typically, no direct reports but must have proven ability to manage volunteers and work with contract/short term vendors.
Typically, requires frequent persuasion or influencing of others.
Typically, procedures for analyzing situations and making conclusions are frequent and diverse.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
EDUCATION REQUIRED: The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor’s degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 5 years
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On occasion, there may be a need to move or lift items up to 25 pounds.

- WordPress
- Constant Contact
- QuickBooks Online and Quicken
- Capsule CRM
