Storyteller and Digital Media Associate

The mission of the Storyteller and Digital Media Associate is to document and share the story of The Children’s School through a variety of media formats and channels.

Under the direction of the Director of Communications, the Storyteller and Social Media Associate assists in the execution of marketing strategy through content creation (including photos, videos, social media, web content, flyers, brochures, and e-communications), competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification and targeting. 

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism or a related field, plus 2-3 years of job-related experience. Knowledge of AP Style, videography and video-editing software. Knowledge and skill with web programming languages a plus. Experience with WordPress required. Experience in Google Analytics and Google AdWords preferred. Graphic Design skills, including proficiency in Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks & InDesign) required. Knowledge of basic photography principles and the ability to use a camera. Familiarity with social media tools, and the knowledge and understanding of engaging and building community on social media (mainly Facebook, Instagram and Twitter). Project management experience a plus.

Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including strong editing, grammar, and proofreading ability. Flexibility and diplomacy and the ability to communicate clearly and professionally are essential. Organized, detail-oriented, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and to prioritize and meet deadlines. Creative aptitude, initiative, and the ability to learn quickly. Journalistic sense of newsworthiness and storytelling. Desire and ability to work as a team player. A mission-driven individual with a belief in and commitment to TCS’s mission and values. Strong desire to thoroughly learn the history, educational philosophy, culture, traditions, constituencies of the School, and competitive landscape.

Compensation commensurate with experience.
