Planned Parenthood Southeastern Pennsylvania (PPSP) is the local affiliate of the country’s leading sexual and reproductive health care advocate and provider.  Planned Parenthood Southeastern Pennsylvania operates 10 health centers throughout Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties.  Nationwide, Planned Parenthood affiliates operate more than 600 health centers, providing medical services and sexuality education for millions of individuals (adults and teens) each year. If so, consider joining PPSP as a Gender Affirming Care Services Coordinator and become a member of our Gender Affirming Care (GAC) team.  Our GAC team provides sexual and reproductive health care for transgender patients, including gender-affirming hormone therapy on an informed-consent basis; self-injection training; and resources and referrals to a full range of transgender services.

As a Gender Affirming Care (GAC) Services Coordinator you would provide administrative oversight and serve as key point person for GAC Services within the Patient Services Department. The Coordinator works with Patient Services leadership, Marketing and Outreach, Billing, and other departments as appropriate to promote and advocate for the program and the patients seeking gender-affirming care. The Coordinator works with the clinical staff in the provision of clinical care and serves as administrative support in communications with patients (key contact for patients).

The Gender Affirming Care (GAC) Services Coordinator will also conduct initial intake interviews, in person or via videoconference, with PPSP patients seeking to medically transition; perform psychosocial assessment of patient’s readiness for medical transition and guide patient in the informed consent process for hormone therapy; document interview information and outcomes in the patient’s electronic health record; participate in PPSP’s GAC Services Team meetings, and be expected to stay current on general trends in transgender health care.

You must possess a Master of Social Work (MSW), LCSW preferred, have experience working with/within the Transgender Community; program coordination or oversight; ability to communicate with persons of diverse backgrounds in an empathetic, nonjudgmental manner; and have experience mastering content and procedures and educating others in same.  Experience providing patient care and education in family planning and sexual health and experience with NextGen or similar Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems are highly preferred.
