Description:

MedShare is a humanitarian aid organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of people, communities and our planet by sourcing and directly delivering surplus medical supplies and equipment to communities in need around the world.

MedShare seeks an Inventory Management Associate for the Southeast distribution center. The Inventory Management Associate is primarily responsible for supporting MedShare’s core operations teams, including inventory management, shipping, volunteer management and warehouse management. The Inventory Management Associate is responsible for executing key inventory maintenance activities including, but not limited to; entering donor receipts, product code maintenance, reviewing and cubing orders, auditing shipments, generating reports, and assisting the shipments, warehouse and volunteer functions.

Reports To: Director of Operations, Southeast Region

Duties & Responsibilities

Main duties:

  • Developing inventory product, process and system expertise
  • Entering product into MedShare’s inventory database, physically relocating the product, and researching new product codes
  • Accurately enter product units into the inventory database, meeting goals for individual production
  • Label products and designate a location
  • Physically relocate product
  • Enter, review and confirm shipment orders
  • Audit completed orders prior to shipment leaving MedShare
  • Ensure proper shipment documentation is completed
  • Enter product donation receipts

Other duties:

  • Cube orders at the request of the shipments manager, and make recommendations for adding or removing products on orders
  • Amend, update, and consolidate existing product codes
  • Research and update values of medical supplies and non-biomedical equipment based on defined guidelines
  • Perform quality control checks on sorted product, and provide appropriate and constructive feedback to the volunteer management team
  • Update product on orders, deleting and replacing boxes as needed
  • Create, maintain, and update various reports pertaining to inventory
  • Perform physical inventory in the warehouse
  • Assist with fulfilling Medical Mission Team and Safety-Net clinic orders, as needed
  • Assist the volunteer department in running volunteer sort sessions, as needed
  • Assist warehouse personnel with pulling of product for container shipments, and loading and unloading of trucks and containers, as needed
  • Assist the shipments department in placing container orders, as needed
  • Update product images for recipient to view
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Two years of inventory control and data entry experience desired
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • High level of physical fitness. Required to repeatedly lift up to a maximum of 50 pounds
  • Experience leading groups of people preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office products – especially Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well with a variety of people in an international setting
  • Fluency in English (additional fluency in Spanish or French a plus)
