POSITION DESCRIPTION

Action Ministries, Inc.

Classification: This position is classified as Part-Time, under the FLSA. Days and hours of work are flexible overnights, evenings, and weekend shifts. This position regularly requires time beyond traditional business hours and weekend work and therefore requires flexibility.

Task   -% of Time

Direct program operations and services  - 80%

Admin - 5%

Client Meetings/Case Meets -15%

 

Position Title:  Residential Advisor

Program Locations Defined:  Trinity Hall Assessment Center  

Reports to: Director of Housing Services

Position Mission:To support the needs of AMI’s Housing program. This position reports to the Director of Housing Services.

 

Action Ministries Mission: Action Ministries mobilizes communities to address the challenges of poverty by focusing on hunger relief, housing and education.

   

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following

  1. Attend required staff trainings for Assessment Center as it relates to residential operations.
  2. Attend on-going training program for Resident Advisor staff policies and procedures, shift expectations, health code standards, first aid and CPR.
  3. Follow all systems and procedures for assisting with the daily operations of the Assessment Center facility.
  4. Facilitate focus and psycho-educational groups. (as needed)
  5. Adhere to all licensing requirements, laws and other regulation are met with regard to delivery of services and documentation.
  6. Manage medication distribution for physician prescribed medicines.
  7. Together with program staff, assess needs, patterns, and issues of the community and target population served by the Assessment Center program.
  8. Oversee Assessment Center volunteers, RA interns, facilities enhancement groups, etc.
  9. Maintain on-call responsibilities.
  10. Oversee the respective shift operations and complete a Beginning of Shift Report and End of Shift Report.  Meet with the Director of Housing Services and Residential Coordinator on a regular basis to review client updates and ongoing logistics of the Assessment Center.
  11. Responsible for the collection and input of documentation including progress notes, medical logs, facilities binders, and staff monthly reports.
  12. Insure documentation and data entry for all participants.
  13. Assist with maintaining client files.
  14. Represent TAC in a professional and positive manner at all times.
  15. Participate actively in individual supervision with the Director of Housing Services and the Residential
  16. Other Duties as assigned

 

  Skills, Attributes, & Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of a 2 year degree or currently enrolled in a Human Service field program
  2. Additional experience working in a child caring institution and/or knowledge of adolescent and adult women who are homeless, survivors of domestic violence and/or sexual assault, and/or at risk of involvement in prostitution, drug use and trafficking, or other street activity.
  3. Excellent skills in client intervention, assessment and documentation.
  4. Ability to demonstrate compassion and sensitivity, and to respect the privacy and special needs of our clients.
  5. Candidates MUST be able to work a non-traditional schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
  6. Familiarity with the City of Atlanta community and its resources.
  7. Experience working with culturally diverse populations.

General Qualifications

  1. Qualifications are in compliance with all licensing /regulatory requirements (TB test, police and FIA clearance, etc.).
  2. Ability and willingness to abide by all Action Ministries’ policies.
  3. Available to work afternoons.  Evening and weekend work is required as well as maintaining on-call responsibilities. 
  4. Ability, desire, and motivation to work cooperatively with the program leadership team, as well as, colleagues and all staff.
  5. Ability to give and receive constructive feedback.
  6. Ability to effectively, appropriately, and accurately communicate both orally and in writing.
  7. Reliability, stability and consistency in job performance.
  8. Ability to work with all members of the community regardless of race, gender, age and cultural or ethnic background.
  9. Ability to maintain professional and ethical standards.
  10. Ability to work as an effective team member within a community-based organization.

  13. Experience with computer word processing programs and data management systems. 
  14. Willingness to maintain a flexible schedule.
  15. Valid Georgia Driver’s license
  16. Must have access to personal vehicle.
