Join an exciting and dedicated team of  professionals at (c ) Management, Inc., an accredited association management company with clients in the healthcare field of oncology. The Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC) is the largest, national client that serves to provide education and advocacy for the multidisciplinary team.  

The Senior Accountant manages the day-to-day accounting activities for (c) Management, Inc.’s largest non

profit client, provides supporting accounting services for smaller clients, collaborates and assists the communication of accounting processes across the company, and serves as right-hand to Controller and Vice

President, Finance.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as an integral part of the monthly, multiple-company accounting close process
  • Prepare monthly journal entries; ensures accruals are made; maintains integrity of the general ledger
  • Review A/P and third-party expense report batches for accounting accuracy (i.e. prepaid or expense; payment against an accrual; fixed asset purchase, project coding accuracy, etc.)
  • Work to ensure accounting accuracy related to multi-company purchases and third-party billing  
  • Serve as accounting knowledge base for client membership types and corresponding fees – works to provide timely and accurate statistical reporting and reconciliation between accounting and membership team
  • Reconcile various ledger accounts timely each month, including cash accounts
  • Ensure accounting policies and procedures are followed, and that accounting principles are maintained
  • Utilize reporting software to prepare financial statements; review for accuracy and identify variances from budgeted line items; make adjustments where necessary; ensure business revenue and expense segments align; prepare results accurately for management and Board presentation
  • Establish and maintain multiple department relationships; provide any requested reporting results; clearly articulate accounting output
  • Serve as support, and lead where necessary, in the accounting department software use and initiatives (accounting software upgrades, bank platform reporting, merchant services, reporting from front office database for accounting input and reconciliation, etc.)
  • Work with management and multiple departments on the accounting impact of new and existing restricted and unrestricted funded projects (i.e. chart of accounts updates, revenue recognition and deferred revenue accounting, matching to costs, project-based reconciliations)
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual budget; educates staff on input/timing/accounting impact
  • Reconcile client event accounting impact with multiple-department expectations; offer reporting solutions to bridge gaps
  • Prepare audit schedules for external accounting firm during annual audit 
  • Prepare information necessary for client tax returns
  • Support the preparation of annual/bi-annual lobbying reports and performs ad hoc accounting and reporting requests
  • Serve as Payroll Processing backup where necessary
  • Actively participates in assigned “CORE Group” (company’s internal project team)

OTHER SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Possess excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously, often with rigid deadlines 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to interact effectively with staff, clients and a broad variety of outside vendors; experience with the communication of accounting results internally and externally
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting principles
  • Experience with navigating accounting priorities against other business priorities
  • Ensure timeliness in the completion of all work products, while maintaining high standards
  • Ability to highlight and addresses procedural gaps –brings attention to management where necessary

REQUIREMENTS:      

 

 

 

  • Bachelors of Accounting and 6-8 years of relevant experience  
  • Must demonstrate a high level of Microsoft Excel proficiency and possess proficiency in all other Microsoft office suite products 
  • In-depth experience with robust and multi-faceted accounting system software
  • Experience with multi-company accounting exposure under the same management enterprise
