Job Title: Data Support Specialist  

Department: Donor Services/Finance 

Reports to: Director of eBusiness  

Overview 

The Data Support Specialist reports to the Director of eBusiness. The Donor Services department within the Finance department is a comprehensive team that manages the donor experience from their interaction with United Way in the donation process. The overall goal of the Donor Services department is to support United Way donors with best in class customer service while engaging with United Way of Greater Atlanta. The ePledge unit within the Donor Services department works with company campaign coordinators in assisting them with their workplace campaigns. 

Position Summary 

The purpose of the Data Support Specialist is to assist with the setup and customization of ePledge campaign sites, work with ePledge team to increase efficiencies and the number of companies utilizing ePledge and assist with transfer of data from the pledge tool (or another electronic system) to Andar (the United Way database). This position will configure, manage, and customize ePledge campaigns for local and national accounts to include configuring sites with customized variables and managing the site during campaign season.  This position will also review, prepare, and load data files for transfer into the ePledge tool and research when files are unable to be fully loaded. In addition, the Data Support Specialist will work with Development Officers to ensure that data is received in the correct format from companies.  Moreover, this position will assign administrative privileges to company campaign coordinators before campaign begins. This role will also create and update information for companies & agencies in our database. Furthermore, this position will format pledge data for company campaigns before the information loads into Andar, work closely with Information Technology personnel to ensure data needs are communicated and addressed, and perform other related duties as assigned. 

This role supports the goal of:  

  • Providing data entry and data file manipulation for giving system and working with Donor Services team to increase efficiencies and quality around data in multiple databases.  
  • Creating and sending accurate campaign reports as requested by internal staff and company campaign coordinators in a timely manner. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Focus on transferring transactions and data from various databases to the centralized database 
  • Perform mass data imports for data creation and quality control updates 
  • Supply campaign reports for employee campaign manager upon request 
  • Assist internal staff and external clients with detailed reports for electronic campaigns under our management 
  • Collaborate with team members to process electronic data files in a timely manner 
  • Data clean up with a focus on merging duplicated records- 
  • Focusing on continuous process improvement  
  • Perform other related duties as assigned 

Qualifications & Expectations 

This role requires a blend of analytical skills and the ability to learn new systems with the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse team. 

Qualifications 

  • Undergraduate degree preferred and/or career-related experience required 
  • Highly Proficient in Microsoft Excel 
  • High attention to detail and accuracy 
  • Experience in data management a plus 
  • Ability to learn new technology systems and apply new skills to problem-solving 
  • Strong organizational skills, information management, time management and follow-through 
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments in a fluid and fast-changing environment 
  • Ability to meet, work, and collaborate with other departments 
  • Customer service experience a plus 
  • Ability to work with confidential matters
