The Position:

Applications are currently being accepted for Research & Planning Analyst in the Office of Institutional Research and Planning, located at the SDCCD District Office. Hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm. Selected candidate must be willing to adjust work days/hours based on the department's needs.

Please note that an employee may be transferred to any site at the option of the Chancellor.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor degree from accredited college or university in any relevant field with an emphasis on research or management

• Advanced research techniques and methodologies, including both quantitative and qualitative methods.

• Any combination of training and experience equivalent to: four (4) years of professional level experience conducting research studies and/or analysis of information.

• Knowledge of California Community College system or higher education legislation and practices.

• Knowledge of Enrollment Management Practices in higher Ed.

• Knowledge of survey instruments design and survey platforms. Experience summarizing and analyzing results.

• Proficiency applying statistical knowledge to research designs and using statistical packages. e.g.: SPSS, R Studio, SAS, Stata, etc.

• Experience designing and performing data visualizations and using Data visualization software. e.g.: Tableau, Power BI (Business Intelligence), etc.

• Strong competencies in time management and project management skills.

• Familiarity and knowledge of database extraction, usage, data element dictionaries maintenance and experience using data extraction software such as: Hyperion, SQL, etc.

• Strong command of Equity, Inclusion and Disproportionate Impact research practices (e.g., Student Equity and Assessment plan, educational impact of diversity, fostering equity environments, among other)

• Demonstrated cultural competency, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty and classified professionals.

Licenses:

Pay Information:

Range 13 ($6,056.28 – $10,111.19) per month based on the current Supervisory and Professional Employees’ Association – Salary Schedule A

Initial salary placement is commensurate with related experience and promotional rules. The District offers a comprehensive fringe benefit package including employer paid: medical, dental, and vision plans; sick and vacation leave; and opportunities for professional development. Initial Salary Placement, Promoted or transferred employees will be placed as specified in the SPAA – Supervisory & Professional Administrators Association Handbook. This position is FLSA Exempt and may not accrue overtime. A temporary probationary period will be applied to the employee entering this assignment.
