The Opportunity

Resource Development Associates (RDA) seeks a highly motivated individual with strong quantitative and analytical research and writing to work on justice-related evaluation, strategic planning, and implementation support projects. The changing sensibility and emerging policies surrounding criminal and juvenile justice have energized our work and we are looking for someone to join our team with a background in quantitative analysis and a passion for building a more just and effective justice system. This is a mid-level position that can lead to other levels of employment.
 

What You'll Do

  • Quantitative data collection and analysis 
  • Coordinate with city, county, and nonprofit organizations to obtain data 
  • Obtain, organize, code, clean, and analyze large datasets 
  • Review datasets to ensure understanding of data structure and meaning; and to clarify assumptions, outcomes, and findings 
  • Develop and lead execution of a data analysis plan, outlining research methodology, analytical questions, sampling, and testing information in a collaborative team environment 
  • Prepare and conduct quality review of report charts and graphs to ensure completeness, accuracy, and relevance 
  • Conduct research on best practices and prepare literature reviews  
  • Prepare written submissions in response to requests for proposals 
  • Finalize data collection tools and map them against the evaluation plan 
  • Work directly with RDA clients and provide support and maintain a positive relationship 
  • Prepare PowerPoints and other materials for presentation at internal and external meetings 
  • Draft and finalize evaluation reports, strategic plans, grants, and needs assessments 

  

About You 

  • At least three years work experience
  • Familiarity with criminal and/or juvenile justice systems and practices
  • Experience with quantitative methods, including inferential analyses 
  • Excellent communication skills § Advanced knowledge of Excel, SPSS, and/or Stata 
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and be self-directed 
  • Experience working with culturally and ethnically diverse communities 
  • Display professionalism in the workplace and the field, including management of confidential data 
  • Multilingual skills desirable 
  • Master’s degree or PhD preferred in criminal/juvenile justice or social sciene related field; experience may replace education
