Position SummaryThe Warehouse & Fleet Associate supports Atlanta Habitat’s mission by controlling the receiving and delivery of physical inventory and equipment used for constructing houses. This position reports to the Purchasing, Warehouse, and Facilities Senior Manager.


Key Responsibilities: 

The Warehouse & Fleet Associate is directly responsible for:

  • Promoting a safe working environment in the warehouse and parking lot.
  • Controlling incoming and outgoing inventory and equipment for all phases of construction.
  • Storing and securing inventory.
  • Assisting with volunteer management for warehouse volunteers.
  • Assisting with monthly inventory counts.
  • Coordinating deliveries of materials to job sites.
  • Maintaining and tracking truck and trailer fleet service with the Warehouse Manager.

Qualified candidates must meet all of the following requirements:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, high school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of one year of warehouse operations experience preferred. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Forklift operation experience required, certification preferred.
  • Previous residential construction experience preferred.
  • Experience managing volunteers preferred.
  • Able to lead volunteers in construction activities.
  • Computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).  Capacity to learn new software packages, including inventory management.
  • Strong organization and communication skills.
  • Able to meet deadlines and pay attention to details. 
  • Able to lift up to 75 pounds, perform heavy manual tasks, work standing or walking for a significant portion of the work day, and be capable of performing outside duties under all weather conditions.
  • Able to work well with staff and volunteers.
  • Able to respond to emergency situations calmly and effectively.

Position is classified as full-time non-exempt.  Hours for this position are 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Tuesday through Friday, and 6:30 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday.  Some flexibility in hours is required. Frequent driving around the City of Atlanta and South Fulton County is required - candidates must have a reliable vehicle and a valid drivers’ license.
