The Elaine Clark Center is seeking dependable and motivated individuals to work in our NAEYC accredited Inclusive child development program as lead teachers. This position is ideal for child development professionals interested in leading a classroom by providing individualized instruction based on each child’s developmental needs, with small ratios and therapeutic supports for children. It provides relevant experience for those interested in expanding their careers in child development or perhaps pursuing a career in speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy, nursing, special education or behavioral psychology as it will provide experience in creating a learning environment for diverse learners.

Job Duties Include:

  • Daily working with students from ages 6wks-5yrs old in an inclusive classroom.
  • Lesson planning, daily documentation, and in-classroom assessment
  • Providing personal and therapeutic care for students
  • Facilitation and interaction with students, parents, staff and peers.

Quality Candidates Will Have

  • Experience working with young children
  • Experience with children with disabilities a plus, however not required.
  • A desire to learn varying approaches to working with individual students in an inclusive, and small adaptive environment.
  • Possess a TCT, AA, CDA or to apply. Also BA or BS in Early Education areas are a plus. BA/ BS in other fields of study must contain at least 15 credit hours of early childhood education.
  • Have a desire to work with children and young adults with special needs.
  • Have the ability to actively participate in the classroom.
  • Be inquisitive with the desire to help the children and young adults in the program work toward their goals.
  • Be able to communicate in a professional manner with diverse personalities.
  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Be able to submit a positive criminal records check.
