Earthjustice is the premier nonprofit environmental law organization. We take on the biggest, most precedent-setting cases across the country. We wield the power of law and the strength of partnership to protect people’s health, to preserve magnificent places and wildlife, to advance clean energy, and to combat climate change. We partner with thousands of groups, supporters, individuals, and communities to engage the critical environmental issues of our time, and bring about positive change. We are here because the earth needs a good lawyer.

Founded in 1971, Earthjustice has a distinguished track record of achieving significant, lasting environmental protections. We achieve this by hiring people who share a passion for justice and a healthy environment. Our headquarters are in San Francisco with offices in Anchorage, Juneau, Los Angeles, Miami, Tallahassee, Honolulu, New York, Philadelphia, Denver, Seattle, Bozeman, Chicago, and Washington, D.C.

The Donor Relations Coordinator is a new, vital role on Earthjustice’s Major Gifts team and reports to the Associate Director of Major Gifts in Chicago. To that end, the person in this role will be responsible for a variety of activities supporting major gift qualification efforts in key markets, including emailing and calling mid-level donors and members across the country, creating and reviewing donor prospect lists, assisting gift officers in the scheduling of discovery visits, planning small day trips in key markets geared towards engaging new donors, writing content to send to donors, and gathering information upon donor request. The person in this role will strive to make the donor’s experience enjoyable and seamless. Their success will be measured, in part, by the total number of face-to-face discovery meetings conducted by gift officers as a result of the Coordinator’s work.

  • Basic writing and information gathering on programmatic questions especially while gift officers are traveling
  • Reassess prospects removed from gift officer portfolios monthly

Major Gifts Systems Team (10%)
